Ripley’s Believe it or Not

Every Monday night, Ripley’s Believe it or Not will cross the threshold of your homes with Kapuso’s newest heartthrob Chris Tiu as host.

You’ve seen Chris as Manny “Pacman" Pacquiao’s co-host in Pinoy Records, and this is his first time to lead a show by himself. “It’s very exciting. Ako, natuwa talaga sa set, sa props, at sa features [kasi] ang ganda! Sana mapanood niyo," he imparts. Chris shares that he watched Ripley’s while growing up, so it’s definitely an honor to have the opportunity to host it.

Ripley’s is set amid a high tech studio where Chris delivers strange, uncanny and bizarre stories from all over the globe. More so, an unbelievable gathering of artifacts, one-of-a-kind items and strange exhibits will be unloaded.

Catch Ripley’s episodes every Monday night!

World Records

World Records showcases a riotous collection of physical, backbreaking stunts and jaw-dropping performances achieved by contenders worldwide. Hosted by the very versatile Paolo Contis, each episode features compilations of astounding exhibitions played by international record-setters.

This is Paolo’s first hosting gig, and he says that he really had to make adjustments. “It’s very different. Kasi nga, maiintindihan ko kung binigyan ako ng sitcom, e. Pero bilang host? Kahit medyo nakakatawa yung pagkaka-host, iba pa rin siya. Sana hindi ko naman sila ma-disappoint. I’m doing my best!"

He spills one of the things to watch out for in the pilot episode: “Ang pilot namin ay dalawang helicopter pilots na gustong mag-inuman, pero habang nagbubukas sila ng beer nila, e [nasa] dulo ng helicopter [yung] pambukas. Yun yung contest nila! Iba’t-ibang challenges yan na gustong gawin ng mga taong skilled pero may ginagawang something for a world record."

World Records airs every Tuesday.

Masquerade

Kapuso’s comic duo, Ariel and Maverick, star in Masquerade—Japan’s longest-running comedy hit series where contestants utilize their inventiveness and wit in the quest to entertain and provide amusement for the masses.

Absolutely goofy-fun, Masquerade brings into play amateur Japanese costumers with props, artistic set design and special choreography to create live visual performances that trick the eye.

“We’re not talking to the audience [here], we’re talking to the ‘madame,’" Maverick explains. “Kasi we’re presenting to her different talents. So we get talents from outside, but actually, yung mga nakikita naming talents, yun yung mga [canned] videos na ipe-present namin. Tapos in the end, she will pick kung ano yung gusto niyang video."

He adds, “Yung mga videos na papakita namin, it’s more of akala mo washing machine, pero tao pala. Akala mo TV o cabinet, tao pala! Para silang Transformers! Tapos eventually baka makakita kami ng local talents who can do the same thing as kung ano ipinapakita sa videos. Kasi I believe na kayang-kaya ng Filipino yan, e. Actually, ginagawa na nga ng mga costume players natin. There’s this group na CosPlay. They can be anything!"

Slapstick humor, astounding ingenuity, weird stunts and wacky presentations await viewers of Masquerade which airs every Wednesday
