Ogie Diaz says goodbye to 'Umagang Kay Ganda'
Entertainment columnist and host Ogie Diaz revealed that he has been dismissed from ABS-CBN’s popular morning show “Umagang Kay Ganda.”
In a phone interview with abs-cbnNEWS.com, Diaz, who is known for hosting UKG’s “Umagang Kay Showbiz” said that his dismissal will take effect this coming Monday, October 13.
Diaz shared that he only heard of the decision Friday morning, October 9 in a meeting with officers of News Current Affairs.
He said that the reason behind his dismissal has something to do with the management’s code of Ethics.
“Actually it’s internal… its conflict between my principle and their code of ethics. Ang ending I had a violation. Non-renewal of services,” explains Diaz who is also the host of DZMM’s newest program “Talakan.”
The columnist, who preferred not to elaborate more about his removal from the show ,said that it was just his first violation and there was no warning or suspension that was given to him.
Diaz also publicly announced over “Talakan” that he was indeed fired.
In his statement he stressed that he did not resign. End of services lang.
Diaz said that he already cried about the matter. He said that he will surely miss that show that he learned to love for almost seven years.
Diaz also stressed that while he does yet fully understand the decision of ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs, he will respect it.
“Basta I will try to move on.
Diaz also thanked all the people behind the show like NCA head Maria Ressa and all the televiewers.
Thank you so much.
