Gabby Concepcion’s father to finally be laid to rest Saturday

After his untimely death last September 23, Gabby Concepcion’s father Rollie, is finally going to be brought to his final resting place Saturday at the LoyolaMemorial park in Marikina city.
72-year-old Rollie finally succumbed to a massive heart attack Tuesday night. One of the biggest reasons why Gabby decided to return to the country after a 13 year absence was to be able to see his father again.
During his September 26 interview on TV Patrol, the Iisa Pa Lamang star got all emotional talking about his dad. "I love him and I thank him. For the good memories, for being the backbone of our family. For being there for me, my mom and my family. I will pray for him everyday," shares a teary-eyed Gabby.
After the wake was made open to the public last Thursday, September 25, sympathetic fans and friends arrived in droves to show respect for the Concepcion patriarch at the Montessori Chapel in San Juan. Gabby also told TV Patrol that one of the things he was thankful for was that his father was able to pass away on the feast day of his favorite saint, Padre Pio.
"There are 360-something days in the year, why it happened on this day…" he says thoughtfully. Gabby also shares one of the most important lessons he has gotten from their family’s loss, "Ang buhay mo ay hindi para sa yo, ginagawa mo ito para sa ibang tao."
The rest of Gabby;s siblings and his mother Lourdes arrived from the States today and went directly to the wake. His mother couldn’t help but share her sadness during the interview with TV Patrol.
"It was when I came back that I realized that he had that heartaches and maybe that was one of the reasons why he moved away so fast," she tearfully says in the TV interview. The matriarch also showed her strong side when it came to the issue her son has with his former manager Rose Flaminiano.
"I’m a mother and my very first instinct is protection. Just like a lioness will kill for her cub. To do everything to save," she stresses. Even Gabby’s sister Rina also had some choice words for the controversial manager. "
Kasi habang tinitira niyo siya, we also suffer because we love him, especially my mom. If she has to contine this fight for my dad, why, what for, bakit pa? Rose, if you can come here and see how my mom is grieveing, kung pano siya nasasaktan, hahayaan mo pa siyang ganyan, being a fellow mother?" she implores.
