Bubble Gang lines up show as it turns 13

After last year’s big celebration, 'Bubble Gang' now gives us another special surprise via a one-of-a-kind celebration. Now on their 13th year, the longest-running gag show in the country will give its loyal viewers another big surprise!
Remember last year’s DO-SE-NA? The Bubble Gang movie for television made people rave about this musical extravaganza for weeks and have proven that this show means business when it comes to making people laugh.
This year, the gang has prepared yet another explosive surprise for their loyal viewers as they get ready for their 13th anniversary. One of the mainstays and the creative director of the show, Michael V., gives us a preview of what is going to happen in their 13th year celebration.
Bubble Gang live
Busy preparing for their 13th year, Michael V. confessed that they have a lot of plans for this big event.
“What we have is the best of Bubble Gang live! The best bits at 'yung mga favorite ng mga tao. We did our own research para malaman kung anung gustong-gusto ng mga tao throughout the years. ‘Yun 'yung iprepresenta namin sa kanila ng live on stage," shares Bitoy with iGMA.
He adds that they don’t have a confirmed venue yet, but definitely it will be one of the big theaters here in Metro Manila.
“I hope it will be like Dingdong and Marian’s birthday concert, may tickets pero free. Para lang may sistema, may tickets…sana ganun 'yung gusto ko , 'yun 'yung target namin," confesses the creative director of Bubble Gang.
Bubble Gang on DVD?
Another big plan that Bitoy and his co-Bubble Gang members are thinking is to release a compilation of their best gags on DVD: “Actually kasama sa mga plano na irelease ito on DVD, kasi ang daming humihingi, ang daming nagcla-clamor at nagsasabi na dapat daw maglabas na ng DVD ang Bubble Gang. Kaso parang nahihirapan na kami na kunin ang materials namin at magcompile, so gawa na lang ng bago, pero para maging bago- ipre-present namin na live. Iba kasi 'yung may interaction with the audience."
Whatever it is that they will do on their 13th anniversary, we are sure that their faithful fans will enjoy the big surprise.
“Sana ma-appreciate ng mga tao na gagawin namin ‘to dahil mahal na mahal namin sila. Lubos 'yung pasasalamat namin dun sa audience na sumusuporta sa amin, all through these years!" was Michael V.’s parting words to us. - iGMA.tv

Gabby Concepcion’s father to finally be laid to rest Saturday

After his untimely death last September 23, Gabby Concepcion’s father Rollie, is finally going to be brought to his final resting place Saturday at the LoyolaMemorial park in Marikina city.
72-year-old Rollie finally succumbed to a massive heart attack Tuesday night. One of the biggest reasons why Gabby decided to return to the country after a 13 year absence was to be able to see his father again.
During his September 26 interview on TV Patrol, the Iisa Pa Lamang star got all emotional talking about his dad. "I love him and I thank him. For the good memories, for being the backbone of our family. For being there for me, my mom and my family. I will pray for him everyday," shares a teary-eyed Gabby.
After the wake was made open to the public last Thursday, September 25, sympathetic fans and friends arrived in droves to show respect for the Concepcion patriarch at the Montessori Chapel in San Juan. Gabby also told TV Patrol that one of the things he was thankful for was that his father was able to pass away on the feast day of his favorite saint, Padre Pio.
"There are 360-something days in the year, why it happened on this day…" he says thoughtfully. Gabby also shares one of the most important lessons he has gotten from their family’s loss, "Ang buhay mo ay hindi para sa yo, ginagawa mo ito para sa ibang tao."
The rest of Gabby;s siblings and his mother Lourdes arrived from the States today and went directly to the wake. His mother couldn’t help but share her sadness during the interview with TV Patrol.
"It was when I came back that I realized that he had that heartaches and maybe that was one of the reasons why he moved away so fast," she tearfully says in the TV interview. The matriarch also showed her strong side when it came to the issue her son has with his former manager Rose Flaminiano.
"I’m a mother and my very first instinct is protection. Just like a lioness will kill for her cub. To do everything to save," she stresses. Even Gabby’s sister Rina also had some choice words for the controversial manager. "
Kasi habang tinitira niyo siya, we also suffer because we love him, especially my mom. If she has to contine this fight for my dad, why, what for, bakit pa? Rose, if you can come here and see how my mom is grieveing, kung pano siya nasasaktan, hahayaan mo pa siyang ganyan, being a fellow mother?" she implores.
Catch Gabby’s full-length exclusive interview on The Buzz this Sunday, September 28.

Anjo Yllana: I want to remarry Jackie in church

GETTING BACK WITH JACKIE.
"Right now we're working on it. Ah, nasabi ko kasi sa isang interbyu na hindi pa formal kasi nga we are still working on it. Although, nagkabalikan na kami."
Gaano ba sila katagal naghiwalay ni Jackie?
"Four months," mabilis na sagot ni Anjo. "Pero naghiwalay din kami before, mga one year. ‘Tapos naayos namin yun. So, ngayon, inaayos din namin. Kasi, gusto namin tuluy-tuloy na, yung maayos na maayos na."
Paano naganap ang balikan nila ni Jackie?
"Wala.
"After a long time, yun na. Siguro na-miss namin ang isa't isa. ‘Tapos yun nag-usap. ‘Tapos yun ang nalaman namin, hindi ko kasi alam dahil hindi kami nag-uusap. Nalaman ko na mahal pa niya ako. ‘Tapos sabi ko sa kanya ikaw pa rin ang mahal ko."
Paano niya nalaman na mahal pa rin siya ni Jackie?
"Sinabi niya," kasunod ang tawa ni Anjo.
Paano niya naman nasabi na mahal pa rin niya si Jackie?
"Siyempre tinanong niya rin. So, tinanong niya kung meron akong iba."
"Ah, natutunan? Siguro natutunan naming ayusin yung dapat ayusin."
PLANNING FOR CHURCH WEDDING.
Kasi, siyempre, also for the kids." - Philippine Entertainment Portal

KC to pay last respects to grandpa Rollie before Europe trip

With the death of actor Gabby Concepcion’s father, the big question to many is this: will Gabby’s daughter KC be attending the wake, considering that her father and mom Sharon did not exactly separate in the best circumstances? Sharon has after all admitted that there was "no closure" in the split-up. According to Gabby’s sister Sandy, KC has sent word she will be coming.
The public, movie press and friends of the Concepcion family will get the chance to pay their last respects beginning Friday, September 26, which is the day for public viewing of the body.
The movie press and friends of the Concepcions aren't exactly barred from paying their last respects to Rollie Concepcion, father of actor Gabby Concepcion, who passed away Tuesday night at the Lourdes Hospital in Mandaluyong City.
Immediate family spotted at the wake include, among others, Gabby and Sandy, two Concepcion siblings based in the country and Genevieve Gonzales, Gabby's wife and their children.
KC Concepcion, the actor's eldest daughter by actress Sharon Cuneta, is also a very close kin who has already sent her feelers she will pay her last respects to her beloved grandpa.
"She said she will come over. I just don't know when," said Sandy who propped to the gate of the Montessori del San Juan, a family school owned and managed by the Concepcions in their sprawling lots just beside their ancestral house in San Juan, when the security guard told her a couple of movie writers were around to have a view of Rollie.
Melba Llanera, a freelance movie reporter who was with this writer in front of the Montessori Wednesday afternoon, volunteered KC most probably would come to the wake in the evening before she goes to Europe Thursday for the world premiere of her film "For The First Time."
"We really don't allow anyone outside the immediate family. Anyway, we'll have a public viewing on Friday after the immediate family has paid its respects to my Dad," apologetically exclaimed Sandy who was obviously assigned to face up with the visitors.
Baby Arellano Concepcion, Gabby's mom, arrived from the US on Thursday with his four sons namely Dinky, Mike, Juju and Junjun and daughter Rina.
An announcement is posted on the doors of the school when the viewing is opened to the public on Friday: no taking of pictures, no close up shots of the casket, no video cameras allowed and no interview with the immediate members of the family.
When we called up and looked for Gabby earlier Wednesday afternoon, it was Martin Delgado, one of the actor's buddies, who answered the phone saying Gabby is very sad about the situation.
"Sorry but we have to abide by the request of the family. I know that you are friend to the Concepcions but the current viewing is exclusively yet for the family," Delgado stressed.
But he added Gabby is fine and resting.
Delgado apologized on Gabby's behalf. "Sana, maunawaan ninyo siya. Sana, pagbigyan n'yo si Gabby. Hiling lang niya na 'wag muna siyang interbyuhin," said Martin.
On Tuesday night, according to Martin, he was with Gabby who was with Genevieve doing some business meeting with some friends in Makati.
"Suddenly, we received a call from Tito Rollie's companion in the car when he suffered chest pains and heart attack. He told us to rush to Lourdes Hospital. So Gabby, Genevieve and I went hurriedly to the hospital but it was very late already. Tito Rollie died on arrival," Martin recalled.
The elder Concepcion was driving his car towards 9 de Pebrero Street in Mandaluyong City when he suddenly felt dizzy and complained pains were smashing his chest so his companion lifted him from the driver's seat to the next seat and took on the wheels to the hospital.
It was Gabby, said Delgado, who assisted his dad in the hospital and later on the morgue. He was also the one who chose and prepared the funeral parlor and casket for his dad.
Meanwhile, off-limit friends excludes Nadia Montenegro who was going in and out of the Montessori to console for his friend. "Kahit anong sabihin nila, paninindigan ko na kaibigan ako ni Gabby. Kahit sa huling sandali, dadamayan ko siya," said Nadia.
Nadia was also the one who was texting the media people to refrain from taking shots on Rollie's remains and advised them of a public viewing on Friday.
Montenegro said she will be beside Gabby in all his fights including the legal battle the actor has raised against Rose Flaminiano, his manager. "Alam naman natin kung sino ang nagsasabi ng totoo. Basta ipagtatanggol ko si Gabby," assured Nadia who was wearing a white blouse and a dark jeans as signs of respect to the bereaved Concepcion family.
No date of interment has been announced yet by the Concepcions until Baby has come home.
"Si Tita Baby lang ang makakapag-decide kung kailan ililibing si Tito Rollie," confirmed Nadia.
Rollie was 71 when he passed away.

Wendy Valdez prays for her critics

Pinoy Big Brother Season 2 ex-housemate actress Wendy Valdez said that she's just praying for those people who are just giving her pains and heartaches through negative write-ups and reports.
In an interview with abs-cbnNEWS.com, Valdez shared that she's asking the Lord to also bless the people who've wronged her and for them to be happy.
"Sa totoo lang pinagpi-pray ko ang mga tao na (tumitira) sa akin na pasayahin sila ni God para hindi naman sila ganoon kasi sometime people na nagsasabi ng hindi maganda sa akin they are doing it [to] feel good about themselves. Kapag nakakita sila ng tao na mas grabe ang situation kaysa sa kanila or [they think] 'mas mabait ako kasi may Wendy na ganito'; and how would they know that? They don't even know the real score," Valdez said.
Valdez' sentiment budded from negative write-ups that started when reports surfaced that she walked out of the taping of Edu Manzano's "Pilipinas, Game KNB?" and had a heated argument with the latter.
In a recent interview Manzano cleared Valdez name saying that no such incident that happened during the taping.
"Tito Edu said na walang ganoong nangyari. They just exaggerated it and I don’t know why. Siyempre nasaktan ako kaya nga cry-ola na naman ako. I'm actually taking it as something positive na din. Para masabi ko ang sama ng loob ko sa mga taong ayaw akong tigilan at puro negative ang sinusulat sa akin," Valdez told the news site.
"Ang dali-daling magdikit ng bad sa name ko alam nila ang tao so shallow. They would believe anything that they would hear or read kasi ididikit nila sa nangyari sa PBB. Parang iisipin nila capable naman siya kasi ganyan talaga siya. So parang they are using it as something para makagawa din ng isyu," she adds.
Work and love
Valdez said that despite the problems she's now facing she's still enjoying her work for ABS-CBN's "I Love Betty La Fea."
She said that she's enjoying her character as Patricia Suarez and happy that she's getting good reviews for her performance.
"I'm actually enjoying yung set namin sa Betty La Fea. Everybody there seems so light, so happy. Ang ganda ng kulay doon at nakakatawa kami lahat. So, nae-enjoy ko siya sa totoo lang. So nagulat ako na mayroon na naman ganito," explains Valdez.
Valdez who is known for being frank also admitted that her boyfriend, former PBB housemate and model Bruce Quebral will temporarily leave the showbiz world to work as a flight attendant for an airline company.
"Para sa future naming lahat. Future ng family niya," she said.
Valdez said that Quebral has a two-year contract with ABS-CBN but believed that Quebral and the management talked about it.
Before the interview end, Valdez thanked all her fans and supporters for their unending love and understanding.
"Sa mga fans ko thank you and more blessings. Kasama din siyempre ang mga fans ko sa palagi kong ipinagdarsal ng more blessings kasi they inspire me at sila yung mga dahilan kung bakit ko gustong mag-continue sa mga ginagawa ko," she ended.

Sewing machine technician booted out of Survivor
A 31-year-old sewing machine technician from the Naak Tribe became the second castaway booted-out in GMA-7’s "Survivor Philippines" on Friday night.
Emerson Dino was voted out by the members of Naak Tribe after their team's second loss to the Jarakay Tribe.
Last week, Naak member Chevyline "Chev" Macias, a second-hand clothes dealer who was once married to a Thai national became the first "castoff" of "Survivor Philippines."
Of the seven members of Naak Tribe, five voted to boot out Emerson.
For his part, Emerson had campaigned to other members of his tribe to vote out young Cebuana Vevherly Gabor, saying that the 20-year-old Cebuana is still young, single and has better future ahead compared to them.
He added that Vevh was too sensitive and did nothing to help their team. His plan, however, failed.
Before the voting at the Tribal Council, Emerson had a time to chat with tribe member Crisanto “Cris" Cartagenas. He expressed his feelings toward the show.
“Ang galing ng reality show na ‘to…galing ng pagkakaimbento…ibang klase talaga," he said.
During his stint, Emerson did a lot of work for the tribe. He even caught small crabs.
Emerson, a home-grown Tondo boy and a judo blackbelter said he joined the Survivor audition hoping that it would open doors.
He was hoping that the reality series would fulfill his dream of becoming a celebrity so that he could provide a comfortable life for his family.
Survivor Philippines airs over GMA-7 weeknights and is hosted by Paolo Bediones.- Fidel Jimenez, GMANews.TV

Counsel asks court to junk TRO bid by Gabby Concepcion's ex-manager

The lawyer of actor Gabby Concepcion on Monday asked the Quezon City regional trial court to junk the petition for a temporary restraining order filed by Rose Flaminiano, Concepcion’s former talent manager.
During the hearing on the prayer for issuance of TRO before the sala of QCRTC Branch 97 Presiding Judge Bernelito Fernandez, Concepcion’s legal counsel, Dexter Lacuanan, said the actor has the prerogative to rescind his contract with Flaminiano.
He argued that the grounds of the petitioner for the TRO were not sufficient since under the new Civil Code, the actor has the right to rescind his contract.
Flaminiano, through her legal counsel, Bonifacio Alentajan, had asked the court to restrain Concepcion from rescinding his management contract with her.
In the same petition, Flaminiano is asking a total of P22-million in moral and exemplary damages for the irreparable injury and damages she suffered as the result of Concepcion's decision.
Records showed that on Sept. 9, 2008, Concepcion through his legal counsel, Raymond Fortun, informed Flaminiano through a letter that he is rescinding his management contract effective immediately.
Concepcion cited lack of transparency and apparent mismanagement of his financial and employment concerns as reasons why he wanted to have his management contract with Flaminiano canceled.
During the hearing, Alentajan insisted that a TRO should be issued since his client would suffer grave and irreparable injury if the actor would be allowed to rescind the management contract.
Alentajan also belied Concepcion’s allegations against his client, saying they were clearly contrary to law, morals, good customs, public order and public policy.
Lacuanan, however, explained that under Article 1191 of the Civil Code, the actor has the power to rescind his contract immediately even it is still in effect. He added that Concepcion had tried several times but failed to contact Flaminiano before he made his decision.
It would be recalled that Concepcion signed a management contract with Flaminiano last April 1, 2008 in Quezon City for a period of five years from date of effectivity and shall be exclusive in character.
The talent manager said that Concepcion had already partially received the fruits of the management contract in the amount of P1.8-million. She added that she and the actor would earn more during the effectivity of the contract for the next four and a half years. - GMANews.TV

Judai and Ryan not bothered by pregnancy rumors

Latest rumors saying that Judy Ann Santos and fiancé Ryan Agoncillo were expecting a child have been swirling but the couple quickly denied this during their recent interview on "The Buzz."
"Kung susumahin natin ‘yung times na tsinismis siyang buntis, siguro mga 20 na ‘yung mga anak namin kung sakaling natuloy lahat ‘yon," Ryan quipped. "Hindi na namin pinapansin ‘yon."
Meanwhile Ryan revealed that he and Judy Ann have already chosen an ideal location for their future dream house and that his next target is to begin building it.
"Nasa balak ko na ‘yon. Kumbaga, to do this ko na ‘yon in the near future," Ryan shared.
Meanwhile, Judy Ann reiterated that there is no specific date yet as to when their wedding is going to take place. "We cannot actually say kung anong date kasi hindi pa namin talaga napag-uusapan. It can happen this year, but it will definitely happen."
Besides their personal lives, both Judy Ann and Ryan are busy with their careers. Ryan just came back from hosting Pinoy Fear Factor in Argentina, while Judy Ann is shooting her next teleserye, Humingi Ako Sa Langit, which is due to start really soon on ABS-CBN’s Primetime Bida.
The actress, who is playing a nurse on the teleserye said that she prepared for her role to make sure that she is convincing on her part. "Nag-observe ako at nanood ako ng mga (American medical dramas) gaya ng Grey’s Anatomy, House, MD. Tinignan ko kung paano sila kumilos," she said.
She added that her preparations also include observing doctors and nurses whenever she goes to a hospital for a check-up and the medical staff present during the show’s actual taping.

Piolo is impressed with Osang’s professionalism in ‘Manila’

Some people believe that Piolo Pascual is the reigning King of Primetime Bida for he has proven that he’s an actor worth his salt time and again. Indeed, he continues to widen his horizons by venturing into his third indie film titled "Manila," a tribute to two of the most critically-acclaimed filmmakers in the Philippine cinema, the late Ishmael Bernal and Lino Brocka.
Inspired by "Manila By Night" and "Jaguar," the two-part movie portrays an honest depiction of the cruel realities of street-life in the slums of Manila. Far-removed from his poster boy image, the country’s ultimate heartthrob plays a role of a drug addict and then a bodyguard of a merciless city official who betrays his loyalty.
Now in its post-production stage, Piolo, who also happens to be the co-producer of this indie film, feels very happy that he was able to finish filming it just before he started "Land Down Under" by Star Cinema. Incidentally, his sense of pride extends to his co-stars in his latest artistic endeavor particularly Rosanna Roces who plays his mother in the first part of the film (where all the scenes are shot in full daylight).
Despite the controversial actress’s pasaway image, Piolo reveals that Rosanna has been nothing but professional from the moment she learned that she was going to be a part of the cast.
"May call time siya na 3 a.m. She was there on time, never kaming na-delay because of her. She even visited our set before siya mag-shoot, twice, just to have a feel of how it is to be a mother kasi first time kaming magka-trabaho. And she's so supportive, napakasarap niyang ka-trabaho, ang gaan," he says.
Apparently, their first scene together proves to be a challenging one because Rosanna has to drag Piolo from the hospital to their home while viciously hitting him in the process (perhaps somewhat reminiscent of Osang’s terrible mother-daughter relationship with Roxanne Guinoo in Sineserye Presents Natutulog Ba Ang Diyos). After taking several shots of the brutal sequence, Piolo explains that a little pain on his part was to be expected.
"Only because it had to be realistic. Yung eksena kasi madaming shots eh so she was compelled to hit me a couple of times, more than five times. Yung iba daya na kasi syempre nahihiya na din siya."
With such a promising plot, it seems that both Piolo and Rosanna are out to wow indie film enthusiasts as they are both respected artists in the entertainment industry.
"She's really very professional. Enjoy akong nakasama siya. I wish there’d be more time and other projects na magkakasama kami ng mas matagal na panahon," Piolo remarks.
Directed by Adolf Alix, Manila’s all-star cast also includes Jodi Sta. Maria, Alessandra de Rossi, Angelica Panganiban, Jon Avila, and William Martinez among others.

Tonyboy did not kick out Gretchen Barretto

"She is still there and she never left."
This was the information that PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) gathered from three different sources about Gretchen Barretto, who was recently rumored to have been thrown off the Dasmariñas mansion by her longtime partner Tonyboy Cojuangco.
In his column published last Friday, September 19, Philippine Star entertainment editor Ricky Lo wrote that Gretchen "was packing her things and leaving the mansion in [Dasmariñas] which she and her beloved Tonyboy Cojuangco and their daughter Dominique have been sharing even during these past turbulent years."
According to Ricky's source, "Tonyboy drove her [Gretchen] away."
Curious to find out more, PEP dug into its sources over the next three days. All three sources know and are known to Tonyboy and Gretchen. In separate interviews, each one of the threes sources confirmed that Gretchen never packed up her bags, nor did Tony tell her to leave.
One source said, "In the first place, Tony is not the kind to kick anybody out. He's really mabait."
The second source said, "What news it that? She's still there."
Finally, a third source today said, "As far as their friends know, they're still in one house. Pero parang hindi nagpapansinan."
Our sources also say that there was no big fight that happened recently between the couple.
Startalk also reported last Saturday, September 21, that Gretchen herself denied the report in a phone conversation with her business manager Boy Abunda. She said, "Tony and I are okay. I did not leave home."
This year began with talks that Gretchen and Tonyboy, who have been together close to 14 years, were on the verge of separating because of the alleged affair between Gretchen and businessman Dody Puno.
A few weeks after this report came out, Gretchen showed up at Senator Jinggoy Estrada's birthday party last February 16, held at the Blue Leaf Events Pavillion in Taguig City, with Tonyboy.
"Ganito ba yung mga pinalayas?" Gretchen teased the press. She was referring of course to the rumor that she had been told by Tonyboy to pack her bags. The business magnate reportedly had enough of Gretchen's alleged affair with Dody.
"Hindi ako pinalayas. Never ako pinalayas. Mabait na tao si Tony," said Gretchen.
These rumors came after a series of sightings, which said that Gretchen had been with some men in varying degrees of intimacy. In this order: actor John Estrada, where photos published on the Internet and aired on TV showed them kissing; government official Dody Puno, who was seen with her several high-end places like Serendra, Bonifacio High Streets, and the Puno-owned Alchemy; and businessman Ricky Yabut, who was allegedly seen at a pricey restaurant with Gretchen in a very cozy set-up.
Following these, it is the buzz of an affair between Gretchen and the government official which has remained constant. Tonyboy is supposed know about these rumors, but for an unexplained reason, has not made a move against his partner. The speculation is that he cannot offer marriage, and that Dody has.
The other speculation is that Gretchen has made amends to Tony, and is now playing the dutiful mistress.
However, one of our sources has a simpler explanation. "Tony simply loves Gretchen," the source said. - Philippine Entertainment Portal

To make Milby's concert more memorable, popular rock band Journey's lead vocalist Arnel Pineda will be part of the show.
Milby said that he is really excited to see Pineda and it will be a great pleasure if he could perform a duet with Journey's main man.
"Wala pa silang sinabi kung may duet pero sobra kung maka-duet... he's from a famous international band," he said.
Milby said he hasn't had the chance to meet Pineda. He said that if they will perform together, he will make sure he gets to choose which parts he will sing.
"He will take the high notes, I will take the low notes," Milby joked.
No love
"We are really concentrating on our careers," this is what Milby says when asked about rumored girlfriend Anne Curtis after reports surfaced that they already parted ways.
Milby admitted that they had problems but added that these were already solved. He said they are both busy with showbiz commitments, so they both decided to focus on their work first.
The actor also denied rumors that the cause of their rift was Curtis’ intimate scenes for the movie “Baler” with actor Jericho Rosales.
“Ang daming nagsasabi na tungkol sa akin na tungkol kay Jericho. Walang ganyan. Kami parehas, ako medyo seloso, medyo selosa din siya pero wala kaming problemang ganyan,” he said.
Milby said that right now Curtis is busy with “Dyosa”, while he is busy with his concert and a movie under Star Cinema.

Ogie Alcasid admits past romances in Don't Lie To Me

Singer-composer Ogie Alcasid got strapped in the lie-detector machine for John "Sweet" Lapus's "Don't Lie To Me" segment on Showbiz Central yesterday, September 21. Ogie agreed to take the hot seat much to the enjoyment of the studio audience inside the Broadway Centrum and two of Ogie's Bubble Gang co-stars and friends Maureen Larrazabal and Francine Prieto.
Maureen and Francine arrived as supporters for Ogie's stint at the lie-detector machine. Maureen, who can't help but notice Ogie's situation, commented, "Kanina pa kaming tawang-tawa and kinakabahan kami for him!"
Ogie, who assured everyone that Sweet wouldn't do his signature dance today, confidently added, "Kayang-kaya ko ‘to!"
The crowd cheered after Ogie pronounced those words. As John was preparing his first question, Ogie suddenly quipped, "Easy lang ‘yan, ha?"
Tetchie Agbayani was one of the hottest faces in the ‘80s and rumor has it that Ogie courted the former Playboy model.
After thinking a while, Ogie answered a "Yes."
The lie detector agreed and gave out a "Truth." When asked to elaborate his romance with the actress, Ogie said, "Nakakahiya naman sa kanya. All I can say is that napakabait at napakatalinong tao yun. I am so proud na, up to now, we are still friends."
When Sweet asked Maureen and Francince's opinion, they joked, "Buti naman inamin mo kasi alam namin yun, e!" After the laughs subsided, Francine curiously asked, "Ogie, ano ang kinompose mong kanta para kay Ms. Tetchie?"
"Award!" was all a laughing Ogie can say.
The next question was a little tougher, John said, "Balita na nag-away kayo noon ni kumpareng Janno Gibbs over Manilyn Reynes. Kaya nga naman ang tanong na ito, e, tinext mismo sa amin ni Ms. Manilyn Reynes. Was there ever a time na nagselos ka kay Janno?"
"Yes!" Ogie said and laughed.
Ogie's honesty was awarded with a "Truth." When asked to explain himself, Ogie said, "Kasi, crush ko din kasi si Mane. So, noong nagsu-shooting kaming tatlo, e, pansin ko na ‘Close naman nitong dalawang ito. Paano ako makakaporma dito?' Yun lang yun. High school selos lang yun."
The next question was quite difficult as it came from none other than Ogie's friend Janno. Janno, who aired his question through video, asked "Totoo ba, na sa karamihan na na-link sa akin, e, ang totoo, ikaw ang natuluyan nila?"
"Bakit ba ako pumayag-payag dito?" Ogie jokingly lamented after he heard the question. "Nagpo-promote lang ako ng concert [Twenty/Twenty], e!"
"Sasagot na ako," Ogie said after a short pause. "The answer is No."
Ogie's calm earned him a "Truth" from the machine. Jeering at Sweet, he exclaimed, "Hindi ka pa sumasayaw!"
Turning to Maureen and Francine, Sweet asked, "Girls, natawa kayo noong ‘Truth' ang lumabas. Bakit?"
The next question was Ogie's another co-host in SOP, Jaya. Jaya's question was kind of an eye-opener for Ogie who looked like everything was a piece of cake. She asked, "Pareng Ogie, curious lang ako. Sa Bubble Gang ba-doon sa lahat lahat ng taon na nagtrabaho ka-sa mga babeng nandoon, mayroon ba sa kanilang isa na naging karelasyon mo at one point?"
Ogie nervously laughed as the question hit home. "Kumbaga sa poker, e, dito na ako tatayo, e," Ogie said. After a few seconds, Ogie said with much coolness, "No."
This time, the lie detector sensed a kind of irregularity in Ogie's body as he answered, therefore giving him a "Lie."
Maureen and Francine joined Sweet as he danced to his signature dance routine. When asked who really the Bubble Gang girl was, Ogie jokingly revealed, "Si Diego [Llorico, their gay co-star on the show]!"
Since the topic was about the Bubble Gang girls, Sweet opted to focus his next question about it.
Ogie quipped. But he honestly answered, "Yes. Crush lang naman, e."
Truth be told, the machine gave out a "Truth" to Ogie's "Yes," much to his relief.
The next level was "difficult."
"No," Ogie answered immediately. When the result came out, it gave out a "Lie." All Ogie could say was "Ay!"
In defense of Ogie, Maureen said, "Ako feeling ko, hindi [nagseselos]."
The next question was about Marian Rivera.
Ogie smiled and calmly said. "No. Alam mo, magseselos siya kung mayroon pagseselosan."
Again, the lie detector sensed that Ogie might be lying as it gave him a "Lie." After the dance, Sweet proceeded to ask the last question, the "Now or Never" question.
"Alam ng lahat ang pinagdaanan ninyo ng inyong relasyon ni Ms. Regine Velasquez. Pinag-usapan, pinagtsismisan hanggang sa inamin at nabunyag. Tanong, Ogie, si Regine Velasquez na ba ang huling babaeng mamahalin mo?"
This question was quite difficult as Ogie quipped, "Parang sobrang lagot ako dito!"
On a serious note, he added, "Isa lang ang sagot ko diyan. Isang nagsusumigaw na ‘Yes'."
True to his word, the lie detector agreed and gave him a "Truth." - Philippine Entertainment Portal

Rose Flaminiano on Gabby Concepcion: 'Binasura niya 'ko'

alent manager Rose Flaminiano appeared Sunday on The Buzz to answer actor Gabby Concepcion's previous allegations against her on the show biz-oriented talk show last week. Mommy Rose first explained why she failed to show up the previous week for a scheduled one-on-one interview with The Buzz host Boy Abunda.
She said that she had not yet consulted her lawyer about the letter that Atty. Raymund Fortun, Gabby’s counsel, sent her. “Ang gusto ko kung ano ang bitawan kong salita, meron din kaming magiging komperensiya ng aking magiging abogado rito," said the manager.
Mommy Rose also said that she does not remember Gabby's claim that she made him sign a contract in the United States before leaving. Mommy Rose said that she had Gabby sign a contract when they arrived in the Philippines, which was notarized in front of the actor.
When Boy Abunda asked if her if Gabby has the rights to negotiate as far as commitments are concerned, Mommy Rose read a condition on the contract. It said that the talent artist has no power to negotiate "directly and indirectly with any person company, and corporation regarding making political, commercial endorsement, and the likes, unless by and through a business manager."
This summarized that commitments should be handled by Mommy Rose, unless the negotiations are beyond her jurisdiction, such as in the case of Gabby's commitments with ABS-CBN, which is an entirely different case.
Mommy Rose also said that her commission from the actor is 20% and revealed that checks from the engagements are in her name but she would give Gabby his 80% share. She also claimed that she informed Gabby about all the commitments, in contrast to Gabby's claim that Mommy Rose did not consult him.
The controversial manager also denied the actor's supposition that she failed to fix his alien employment certificate and other accounts to the Bureau of Internal Revenue.
"Three or four months ago, maliwanag na maliwanag niyang sinabi sa akin, 'Mommy Rose, may mag-aayos ng aking dual citizenship,'" Mommy Rose said, referring to a relative of Gabby’s spouse.
Mommy Rose feels that Gabby’s actions is being influenced by other people, and said that she has evidences that would prove that actress-turned-politician Nadia Montenegro is behind it all. She said that she was emotional when she submitted a counter-affidavit because she felt that Gabby treated her like garbage.
When asked for her message to her talent, Mommy Rose said that Gabby is in the right age and mind to know what is right from what is wrong.
"Alam mo naman na ako'y naging totoo sa 'yo. Transparent ako sa lahat ng bagay. Alam mo kung ikaw ay nasusulsulan. Nagsalita ako dahil nauna ka. Masakit man sa kalooban ko, ginawa ko ito para ipagtanggol ang sarili ko. I'm sorry, Gabby," she ended.

Ely Buendia: 'I’m still resting but I’m OK'

Weeks after his successful angioplasty operations, Eleandre "Ely" Buendia, front man of the country’s most influential rock band of the 90’s, finally broke his silence.
"I’m still resting pero OK naman. Kailangan lang bantayan yun tulog and yung kain ko," Buendia said in an interview with GMA-7's Showbiz Central Sunday.
Last month, during the Eraserheads’ much-awaited concert reunion last August 30 at The Fort, Ely collapsed and was rushed to the Makati Medical Center.
He was later transferred to the Philippine Heart Center, where he underwent operations.
Buendia has already been suffering from "severe emotional and physical stress" weeks before the concert, his wife Diane had earlier said.
But Buendia said he decided to push through with the concert so as not to disappoint their "number one fan" – his mother Lizette Buendia, who passed away two days before the event.
"Well, unang-una tungkol sa mom ko we did have the option not to continue. Well, that show was for my mom dahil she was one of the reasons why I agreed to do it," Buendia said.
"My mom is the number one fan of Eraserheads. She’s part of the band from start to finish. Ayokong paghintayin pa yung number one na fan na si Mama, baka magalit pa yun eh," he added.
During the interview, Buendia recounted what befell him backstage.
"Right after the last song of the first ... naramdaman ko yung parang hindi na ako makahinga. So I … the ambulance there and my medical crew, sila agad ang tinawag ko," Buendia said.
"And I asked for oxygen and when I got to my dressing room I felt pain in my chest tapos yun na nag-collapse na ako," Buendia said.
Asked whether the Eraserheads will stage a make-up concert, "that's the number one thing on my mind," Buendia said.
However, Buendia clarified that due to his health, their make-up concert is in a "wait-and-see" stage.
He added that he would not sign on anything unless he's sure he is capable of fulfilling it.
"Siyempre I'm not going to sign on anything yet until I'm pretty sure na kaya ko yung gawin ulit. So it's a ‘wait and see’ stage muna at this point," Buendia said.
On August 30, the band’s much awaited concert reunion was cut short following Buendia’s heart attack.
On September 1, Ely was transferred to the Philippine Heart Center (PHC) where he went under the knife.
The following day, Ely was declared stable by his manager Day Cabuhat, adding that the singer-composer was “100-percernt fully restored."
However, Buendia’s doctors advised him to stay in hospital for two more weeks for a cardiac rehabilitation.
In 2007, Ely also suffered a heart attack while his new band Pupil was performing in Laguna. He underwent two angioplasty procedures at the PHC. - Aie Balagtas See, GMANews.TV

KC Concepcion looks forward to doing a movie with Piolo Pascual

Back in the country after attending two successful US premieres of her first film "For the First Time", KC Concepcion is happy and looking forward to doing more projects soon.
At the Sony Armed & Fabulous product launch held last Sept 19 at the Rockwell Tent, the Sony Cyber-shot spokes model shares that there are two things she is looking forward to the most right now: attending the European premiere of her film with Richard and hoping to share the big screen with heartthrob Piolo Pascual.
“I just attended the For the First Time premiere in Los Angeles and San Francisco. It was a good turnout. I didn’t know that there’s so much support from Filipino fans there. It was both an exciting and fulfilling experience for me. I know they were really enjoyed the film. Of course it would’ve been nice if Richard was there too but he was also busy here. We’re going to Austria next week for our Vienna premiere. For the first time there’s a Vienna premiere for a Star Cinema movie so it’s something special,” she admits.
KC also admits that out of all the possible leading men out there, she hopes that she can one day do a project with Piolo. “I would like to be more active in my roles and I would like to work with Piolo Pascual. I know he’s a great actor and I know I’ll learn a lot from him. And he’s also a good friend so I know we’ll be comfortable with each other if we’ll be working together,” she shares.
Slated to do a Valentine movie with Richard next year with GMA films, KC hopes her fans will be just as supportive as they were with "For the First Time."
“Sana kiligin ulit sila. It’s going to be with a different film company so it’s going to be something different. A different director and a different story. So sana yung mga nakakita at nagkagusto sa For the First Time, ay magustuhan ulit nila. Hopefully, ma-accept nila yung mga bagong darating,” she confides.
The talented young actress-product endorser is also proud to show off her movie to the kababayans in Vienna, Austria. “I know excited na rin yung mga kababayan natin doon. Natutuwa rin ako na ngayon napapadala natin yung ating mga pelikula sa ibang bansa. Excited na ako ipakita yung pelikula sa mga kababayan natin doon. Gusto ko rin makita kung paano sila mabuhay doon. At the same time, maipapakita rin namin yung itsura ng Santorini, Greece at para maipagmalaki sa kanila na meron tayong pelikulang ganito,” she excitedly shares.
KC also shared that she learned a lot of lessons while doing the movie. “Of course in For the First Time was my first time, which is exactly why we named it that (laughs). My partnership with Richard was great. I learned from him professionally. He comes on time and he treats people well. He doesn’t complain. I also learned a lot from Tito Philip Salvador (who played her dad in the film).
"He always gave me advice about being patient with the craft. And of course kay Direk Joyce Bernal natutunan ko na magpakatotoo sa lahat ng ginagawa ko. Kung sino ka, yun ka eh kaya yun ang ipakita mo dahil yun dapat,” she concludes.

Charice earns rave reviews from NYTimes, NY Post

Is Charice's star ever going to dim? By the looks of it, not anytime soon.
Fresh from the success of her performance in the concert of international pop star Celine Dion at Madison Square Garden, sixteen-year-old Charice continues to gain more fans after two major newspapers, the New York Times and the New York Post, heaped praises on her performance last September 15. (Watch a video clip of that duet here.)
In an article published September 16, reviewer Jon Caramanica of The New York Times described Charice's voice as "impressive" and praised the young diva for giving a rougher, more emotional edge to her performance of Dion's hit song "Because You Loved Me."
"They performed 'Because You Loved Me', though Ms. Dion mostly stayed out of the way as Ms. Pempengco explored the song’s heretofore unheard rougher edges, with ample gesticulations and melisma.
"As Ms. Pempengco brought the crowd to its feet, Ms. Dion struck poses behind her: awestruck wonder, heartfelt empathy, ambient triumph," the New York Times review read.
A separate review written by Dan Aquilante of the New York Post described Charice's performance as the brightest moment of the Celine Dion concert.
"One of the most interesting turns in this show was the MSG debut of 16-year-old vocal prodigy Charice Pempengco, whose manager, Oprah Winfrey - that's right - secured the Philippine singer a duet with Celine for the song 'Because You Loved Me.'
"The Charice segment was the night's brightest moment. The teen was able to blast notes with Celine-like power, but she was also able to get in touch with the song's emotions," the review read.
Online videos of Charice's performance at the Dion concert showed people giving a standing ovation to the young Filipina after the duet.
Before they performed, Dion introduced Charice to the audience as a Filipina whose voice "can literally blow the roof off Madison Square."
"Charice vowed to save her mom from a life of desperation and despair. You know, through prayers and dreams and God-given talent, an incredible voice, Charice entered and won every singing contest in her native country and eventually, was noticed by such influential people such as Oprah and Oprah took her under her wings and David Foster joined in," Dion said.
She said she invited Charice as a guest to her concert after seeing the girl perform on "The Oprah Winfrey Show."
After inviting Charice to the stage, Dion praised the vocal prodigy and asked if she was nervous. When Charice answered yes, Dion said she always remembered to take the advice given by her manager and future husband, Rene Angelil, when she first started singing at the age of 12.
"He told me 'Celine, I know you're nervous. Don't be scared. You love to sing. When you go up there, you'll be nervous. Don't be.' I will give you an image that you can think about. Think that all the people you see in front of you are your brothers and sisters. You are singing in your living room and it's your family," Dion told Charice.
Charice then said that she was ready to sing and dedicated their song to her mother, Raquel.
Ever the gracious performer, Dion let Charice take the lead in the song - allowing the young singer to show off her vocal prowess that brought the house down.
"You did amazing, and the roof of the Madison (blew) up tonight," Dion said after the performance, adding that she could not wait until Charice had her own concert in Madison Square Garden.
"When you do perform in Madison Square, are you going to invite me? I love you and I can not wait to be with you to perform here for a whole concert," she added before Charice left the stage to more applause.
'The Most Talented Girl in the World'
Charice's whirlwind rise to popularity started after YouTube videos of her jaw-dropping performances caught the attention of popular US TV host Ellen Degeneres. Her performance at the "Ellen Degeneres Show" later led to appearances in the Oprah Winfrey show as well as performances with international stars Michael Buble and Josh Groban.
Charice also performed with renowed tenor Andrea Bocelli in his hometown in Italy.
In the episode titled "Dream Comes True", Oprah tracked the rags-to-riches story of Charice starting with how she once witnessed how her father almost killed her mother in a fit of rage before neighbors stopped him.
Charice said it was then that she and her mom decided to live their own lives away from their father. Charice's mom worked 16-hour days, six days a week to make ends meet while Charice signed up for more than 80 contests to help her mother.
"I really want[ed] to help Mom," she told Oprah. "When I'm joining singing contests, and I won some $50, she was, like, 'Okay, we're going to have some food for one month, and we're very happy.'"
She was later able to save enough of her contest winnings to help her mother pay for an apartment. In 2005, she joined the ABS-CBN talent contest "Little Big Star" where she placed 2nd runner-up to contest winner Sam Concepcion.
The series of YouTube videos posted by an avid fan later led to Charice performing at Star King, a famous talent show in South Korea, on October 2007.
But it was Charice's performance in the Oprah Winfrey Show last May that cemented her claim to fame. After hearing Charice sing, Oprah said she couldn't get the little girl with the big voice out of her head and invited her back to the show.
Instead of flying back to the Philippines after her appearance on The Oprah Show, producers pulled Charice off the plane and brought her back to Harpo Studios. Then, Oprah called legendary producer David Foster to see what the starmaker could do for Charice.
Oprah, who once called Charice "The Most Talented Girl in the World", says she is impressed not just with Charice's voice but with her attitude in life.
"One of the things I love most about Charice is that no matter what obstacles she's faced in her life, she's never given up on her dream of something better," Oprah said.
