In a special report on Entertainment Live yesterday, Rose Flaminiano is firm on the specific performance case she filed against actor Gabby Concepcion.Mommy Rose is demanding that the actor be bonded to his five-year contract and pay her P22 million in damages.

Mommy Rose, with her lawyer Atty. Bonifacio Alentajan, appeared in a press conference last September 17 and explained that she and Gabby had personally talked last September 16, with the intervention of actresses Celia Rodriguez and Daisy Romualdez.

However, instead of patching things up, an incident forced Mommy Rose to stand by her case.Mommy Rose relayed what transpired in the said discussion.

“Dalawa lang ang hinihingi ko sa kanya (Gabby).Mag-usap ang abogado ko at abogado niya.Pangalawa, pumunta siya ng The Buzz at linisin niya ang pangalan ko.Sinabi naman niya ‘yes.’”

The following day however, Atty. Alentajan received a call from someone claiming the actor had backed out of the agreement.This forced Mommy Rose to push through with her case against Gabby.

During the press conference, Mommy Rose also presented records proving that she is not secretly pocketing money out of Gabby’s talent fee.Apparently, the actor has gone on record about his desire to leave Mommy Rose’s camp claiming that there have been discrepancies in their contract.

Mommy Rose added that she is not threatening Gabby about his issue with the internal revenue and immigration.“Nung dumating siya binigay ko sa kanya ‘yung tax account number niya.Hindi naman ako accountant, bakit ko pakikialaman?‘Yung sa immigration na kesyo tine-threaten ko siya.Ako na nga ‘yung nagmamalasakit sa kanya iha-harass ko pa ba siya?” she said.

Mommy Rose also said that someone is turning Gabby against her, referring to former actress and the actor’s close friend Nadia Montenegro. Mommy Rose revealed that in a text message, Nadia said that she is just being a concerned friend because Gabby is in the wrong hands.

According to Mommy Rose, Nadia also accused her and her son of going out of their minds.However, the talent manager cleared that she has nothing against Pops Fernandez who is also being rumored to be a big influence on Gabby.

In a recent interview, Gabby was asked for his comment on Mommy Rose’s accusations, but the actor was cautious with his answer. “Naka-commit na ako noon sa mga kontrata so pinagpapatuloy ko lang.However siguro may mga kontratang hindi ko alam so pagpasensyahan niyo na lang po kung hindi ko alam ‘yung mga nagyayari.Ako’y nandidito lang at naghihintay sa kung ano rin ang hinihintay niyo.Nothing lasts forever, sabi nga nila.All good things come to those who wait.So maghintay na lang tayo.Maliit lang ang mundo.Bilog ang mundo, so lahat ng ginagawa natin ay paikut-ikot lang.”

Lumutang lalo ang kaguwapuhan ng action superstar na si Robin Padilla sa bago niyang look para sa pelikulang Sundo ng GMA Films. Nagpa-military cut si Binoe at mas malaki ang katawan niya ngayon.

Ayon kay Binoe, tawag kay Robin sa showbiz, pinaghandaan daw niya talaga ang naturang pelikula pati na sa nalalapit niyang series na Totoy Bato sa GMA-7. Nag-iba na rin daw siya ng kanyang diet at paraan nang pagwu-workout dahil sa role niya sa parehong project.

"Nagpalaki ako talaga ng katawan kasi nga military man ako sa Sundo at sa Totoy Bato naman, boksingero ako. Kaya hindi ako nagpapayat ‘tulad nang ginawa ko sa Joaquin Bordado. Talagang kumain ako ng mga nakakapagpalaki ng katawan.

"Pati ang workout ko, matitindi rin. Kailangan kasi pumuputok ang mga muscle ko sa katawan. Dapat yung malaki akong tingnan kaya heto, unti-unti ko nang nakukuha yung tamang laki," pahayag ni Robin sa panayam sa kanya ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) sa solo presscon na ibinigay sa kanya ng GMA Films last Thursday night, September 18.

Malapit na palang matapos ang Sundo na idinidirek ni Topel Lee, na siya ring director ng hit horror movie na Ouija. Very pleased nga raw si Binoe sa outcome ng pelikula dahil matagal daw siyang hindi nakagawang horror movie at konti lang daw ang mga action scenes niya sa pelikula.

"Huling horror movie na ginawa ko ay yung Kulimlim," banggit ng action superstar. "Ngayon lang ulit nangyari na kakaiba itong pinagawa sa akin. May mga action scenes din naman ako, pero hindi marami.

"Mas maraming acting talaga. Yung mga galaw ng mata, pagbigkas ng mga dialogues. Magagaling kasi ang mga kasama ko rito sa pelikula kaya dapat makipagsabayan tayo sa kanila."

Kung tutuusin ay award-winning actor na si Binoe, pero gusto pa rin niyang matuto sa mga kasama niya sa pelikula.

"Hanga ako sa mga kasama ko rito ‘tulad nina Sunshine [Dizon], Katrina [Halili], at Rhian [Ramos]. Magagaling sila at nakakabilib. Talagang gaganahan kang umarte kapag mga tulad nila ang kasama mo sa pelikula.

"Ako naman, parati akong open na matuto sa mga kasamahan ko sa pelikula or telebisyon. Hindi naman tayo sobrang magaling na artista. Nagkakataon lang na magaganda ang mga proyekto na naibibigay kaya pinapaganda natin nang husto ang performance. Marami pa tayong gustong matutunan pagdating sa pag-arte at saan pa natin matututunan ‘yan kundi sa mga nakakasama natin parati, di ba?"

Ipinagmamalaki rin ni Binoe ang pagiging semi-finalist ng kanyang leading lady sa Joaquin Bordado na si Iza Calzado sa International Emmy Awards.

"May sinabi ako kay Iza noon na sana ay maalala niya. Noong ginagawa namin yung Joaquin Bordado at napanood ko kung gaano siya kahusay sa mga eksena niya, nasabi ko sa kanya na hindi lang mga Pinoy ang hahanga sa pinakita niyang husay sa pag-arte kundi pati na ang ibang tao sa iba't ibang parte ng mundo.

"Kaya noong malaman ko na naging semi-finalist siya, natuwa talaga ako kasi tama ang nasabi ko sa kanya. Pang-international talaga ang husay ni Iza at ipagpatuloy niya ‘yan dahil marami pang magagandang roles na darating sa kanya," pagtatapos ni Robin. - Philippine Entertainment Portal

Dalawang contract signing para sa dalawang endorsements ang dinaluhan ni Marvin Agustin noong Thursday, September 18. Una ay ang endorsement niya para sa clothing brand na Urban Edge na ginanap sa Nippon restaurant sa Tomas Morato, Quezon City; at ang pangalawa ay ang Lana de Herba Oil and Ointment sa Annabel's restaurant sa Tomas Morato rin.

Tuwang-tuwa si Marvin dahil hindi niya akalain na makaka-score siya ng dalawang endorsents sa isang araw. Libreng araw sana niya ang araw na ‘yon para makasama ang kanyang kambal na anak na sina Sebastian at Santiago. Pero dahil kailangan siya sa contract signing ng dalawang endorsements ay siningit na lang niya ang oras niya para sa kambal.

"Manonood sana kami ng sine ng mga anak ko, pero biglang nagkaroon ng dalawang contract signing. ‘Ayun, inaway tuloy ako ng kambal!" natatawang kuwento ni Marvin sa PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal).

Patuloy niya, "Pero nag-promise naman ako sa kanila na lalabas kami since lunch yung unang contract signing at dinner naman yung isa. Hindi na lang kami nakapanood ng sine kasi baka kapusin sa oras. Ipinasyal ko lang sila at okey na sila sa gano'n. Para naman sa future nila ang mga ginagawa ko, e."

Ang dahilan kung bakit kinuhang endorser si Marvin ay dahil sa kanyang mass appeal. Bukod sa toprating ang mga shows niya ‘tulad ng Gaano Kadalas Ang Minsan at Dear Friend, maganda pa ang image niya bilang businessman, actor, at family man.

"Nakakatuwang isipin na nakikita nila yung mga bagay na ‘yon sa akin. Like sa business side ko, it's really doing great at magtatayo kami ng two more branches ng Sumo Sam [a Japanese resto]. It's either before this year ends or early 2009. ‘Tapos may mga naiisip pa ako na buksan na business, pero lahat ‘yan nasa planning stage pa.

"The trust that these people give me makes me want to be a better example sa maraming young businessmen para hindi naman nakakahiyang maging endorser nila. Promise ko naman sa kanila na I will try my best to the best endorser they have," nakangiting sabi ni Marvin.

MARVIN, THE SPORTSMAN. Sportsman din si Marvin dahil sa nahiligan niyang sport na archery. In fact, kasali na siya sa Philippine archery team na lalaban sa Asian Gran Prix na gaganapin dito sa Pilipinas (sa Ateneo de Manila University) sa October. Makakalaban nila ang mga archers mula sa iba't ibang bansa ng Asia.

"Pinayagan nga ako ng Korean trainer na mag-compete kahit three weeks pa lang ako nagte-train under him. Mukhang ready na raw ako and, hopefully, maging okey naman ang pag-compete namin this coming October."

TEAM-UP WITH JOLINA. Bukod sa dalawang nabanggit na shows, kasama rin si Marvin sa bagong primetime series ng GMA-7 na La Lola.

"Nakapag-taping na ako for La Lola at nakakatuwa ang story niya. It's drama-comedy na may konting mystery. It's for the whole family. Pambalase ito sa mga sobrang drama na napapanood na nila sa GMA Telebabad. Kumbaga, ito ang magiging pinaka-dessert nila sa gabi," lahad ni Marvin.

Pagkatapos ng cameo role niya sa pelikulang I.T.A.L.Y. (I Trust And Love You), may mga fans pa rin sila ni Jolina Magdangal na nagre-request sa GMA Films na gumawa ulit sila ng pelikula. Nandoon pa rin kasi ang screen chemistry nila na napatunayan na nila noon kaya naging big hits ang mga pelikula nila sa Star Cinema ‘tulad ng FLAMES: The Movie, Labs Kita... Okey Ka Lang?, Kung Ayaw Mo Huwag Mo, at Gimik: The Reunion.

"Overwhelming naman ang response ng audience noong premiere night nga ng I.T.A.L.Y. Ginawa ko yung cameo role in support na rin for GMA Films at kay Jolens. It would be nice na magkaroon kami ulit ng movie kasi matagal na rin kaming hindi nagkakasama sa big screen.

"Sa TV kasi, okey naman ang pagtanggap sa amin starting with I Luv New York, ‘tapos itong Dear Friend. Extended kami for another season dahil maganda ang feedback sa amin ni Jolens. Ako, I'm always willing to work with Jolens anytime. Basta sabihin lang nila, walang problema sa akin."

Marami ang nakapansin na okey rin ang pakikitungo niya sa boyfriend ni Jolina na si Atty. Bebong Muñoz. Ayon kay Marvin, magkakilala naman daw sila ni Bebong at walang dahilan para hindi sila maging okey.

"Na-meet ko naman si Bebong noong nasa New York kami ni Jolens. He's a very pleasant guy at nakikita ko naman na bagay na bagay sila. I can say na natagpuan na ni Jolens ang Mr. Right niya.

"Believe or not, happy ako para sa kanilang samahan and kung kelan man ang magiging kasal nila, huwag sana nila akong kalimutan na imbitahan kasi maganda ang magiging regalo ko para sa kanila. Pero siyempre, secret muna ‘yon. Malalaman na lang nila kapag naganap na ang wedding nila," nakangiting sabi ni Marvin. - Philippine Entertainment Portal

GENEVA - It has delighted and appalled viewers from Belfast to Belgrade for over 50 years but one continent is no longer enough for the Eurovision Song Contest, which said Thursday it will take its show to Asia.

Japan, China and India will be among the 15 Asian countries sending their kitsch-clad crooners to compete for glory, said the Geneva-based European Broadcasting Union in a statement.

"Having brought the European version of the Eurovision Song Contest to the Middle East and North Africa, we are now delighted that viewers across Asia will enjoy one of the best established entertainment shows in the world," said Eurovision TV's Bettina Brinkmann.

Asia's version will start in 2009, and involve competitors from Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Macao, Malaysia, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

"The format is highly suited to the Asia region and its people who love popular music and have a strong national pride," says Andreas Gerlach, CEO of Asiavision Pte. Ltd, the company which would produce and market the programme.

"Asia today is all about competition, economically and politically. The Song Contest is a friendly competition between cultures," he added.

Tournaments would take place over a six-month period in the regional and national levels, culminating in the grand final.

The Eurovision Song Contest started in Switzerland's Italian-speaking city of Lugano in 1956, and has over the years developed into a regular on the European television schedule.


Previous winners have included Abba, Sandie Shaw, Buck's Fizz and Katrina and the Waves, but in recent years the competition has been dominated by eastern European states, giving rise to accusations of bloc voting.

Matagal-tagal na ring usapan ang tungkol sa pagbabalik ng award-winning actress na si Lorna Tolentino sa bakuran ng ABS-CBN pagkatapos sumakabilang-buhay ng asawa niyang si Rudy Fernandez. Matatandaang bago naging Kapuso si Lorna ay nakagawa siya ng ilang soap opera sa Kapamilya network.

Kahapon, September 18, ay nakasalubong ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) si LT at ang kanyang manager na si Lolit Solis na papasok sa elevator ng GMA Network Center. Sinamahan ni Manay Lolit ang aktres upang pormal nang magpaalam sa mga big boss ng GMA-7 dahil tinanggap nga nila ang isang soap opera sa ABS-CBN, kung saan makakasama ni Lorna si Gabby Concepcion.

"Ayaw ni LT na basta na lang siya gagawa sa kabila na hindi nagpapaalam," sabi ni Manay Lolit sa PEP. "Kaya nandito siya para siya mismo ang personal na magpasalamat at magpaalam. Ayaw naming mag-burn ng bridges, di ba?"

Dagdag pa ni Manay Lolit, sinabi naman daw ni LT kung matapos na ang gagawin niyang show sa ABS-CBN ay maging welcome pa sana siya sa bakuran ng GMA-7. Wala naman daw problema ‘yon dahil palagi naman daw welcome si LT na bumalik at gumawa ng show sa Kapuso network.

Ayon kay Manay Lolit, kay Lorna sana nakalaan ang role ng yumaong si Nida Blanca sa TV remake ng pelikulang Saan Darating Ang Umaga (1983). Makakasama niya sana rito si Yasmien Kurdi na siya namang gaganap sa role ni Maricel Soriano.

Nag-decline daw si LT dahil nauna na raw niyang tinanguan ang offer ng Dos. Ang balita ng PEP, si Amy Austria na ang papalit sa tinanggihang role ni Lorna.

Sabi ni Manay Lolit, "Ayaw raw kasi ni LT na mag-telefantasya at gusto raw niyang umiyak at mag-drama. E, noong i-offer ang Saan Darating ang Umaga, naka-oo na siya doon sa soap drama sa Dos with Gabby.

"May magagawa pa ba ako? E, di sige, pagbigay na lang natin si LT at feel niyang umiyak nang umiyak!" sabay tawa ni Manay Lolit, na dating manager ni Gabby.

Marahil ay hindi pa rin kayang gampanan ni Lorna ang ganung kabigat na role, lalo pa't tungkol sa pamilyang namatayan ng ama ang kuwento ng Saan Darating ang Umaga.

Wala pang titulo ang gagawing soap nina Lorna at Gabby sa ABS-CBN na magsisilbi ring reunion nila. Nakagawa na sila ng ilang pelikula noon, ‘tulad ng Kislap Sa Dilim, Kung Ako'y Iiwan Mo, Pinulot Ka Lang Sa Lupa, at ang award-winning na Narito Ang Puso Ko.

Ang huling programa ni Lorna sa GMA-7 ay ang Startalk, pero bago rito ay napanood siya sa telefantasyang Zaido. - Philippine Entertainment Portal

Richard Gomez has already proven his worth as an actor by the number of recognitions he has received from different award-giving bodies. However, no matter how established his name is in the industry now, Richard does not stop trying new things.

Next month, TV viewers will see a different Goma, Richard's common name in showbiz, as he serves as the host of the popular game show called Family Feud.

In a short interview with PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) after the 20 Questions with Ricky Lo at St. Paul's University on Pedro Gil, Manila, yesterday, September 18, Richard related his feelings about his new show on GMA-7.

"It's gonna be my first game show and I'm very excited about it," he told PEP. "I look forward to doing the show together with different families who will pass the audition."

The former matinee idol said that he has long wanted to host a game show. So, when he found out that his home network got the franchise of Family Feud, he auditioned for the job.

Contrary to what people think, Richard said that GMA Network did not handpick him. "Alam mo, maraming kaming nag-audition. You really have to audition for that part. Ang dami nang nag-audition, siguro I'm the lucky one na nakita nila doon."

He continued, "I've been ready for that show. I've been longing to do a game show and I've been telling my GMA bosses, ‘One day, I wanna do it.' Then, ang sabi nila, ‘Family Feud,' and ito na."

This is not the first time for Richard to host a show, but he says that it will be different from his first hosting job in the defunct entertainment talk show S-Files since Family Feud is a game show.

So, how is he preparing for it?

"May mga templates naman sila roon and I get to watch the past shows, how they do it. As a kid growing up, we always get to watch Family Feud. So, more or less, I know how to play the game."

Richard will start taping for Family Feud in the next two weeks. He also confirmed reports saying that the high-rating show of Arnell Ignacio called GoBingo will soon say goodbye to its viewers. "Ang start noon, after GoBingo," ended Richard. - Philippine Entertainment Portal

Former Eraserheads and now Pupil frontman Ely Buendia is "fine and doing well."

In a text message received by PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) earlier this afternoon, September 18, Ely's manager Day Cabuhat disclaimed the nagging rumor circulating since yesterday saying that the legendary singer-songwriter passed away due to complications brought by his heart ailment.

According to the rumor that was disseminated widely via SMS, a news blackout is allegedly currently being implemented by Ely's immediate family and close friends since none knew how to break the sad news to the public.

"Just to let you know it ain't so," informed Day, who admitted being swamped with phone calls and text messages coming from fans and reporters for the past two days.

COMPLETE REST AND NO STRESS. Ely was ordered by his doctors to rest for two months straight after undergoing another angioplasty—his third since early 2007—to clear his blocked arteries.

The enigmatic musician, widely known as the heart and soul of the phenomenal ‘90s rock band the Eraserheads, was rushed to the hospital last August 30. This was after experiencing chest pains before collapsing backstage while in the middle of the highly anticipated one-night reunion concert of the Eraserheads at the Bonifacio Global City Open Field in Taguig. Stress, both physical and emotional, was being pointed at as the main reason behind Ely's meltdown.

Aside from the taxing preparations done by the band members leading to the event, Ely's mother, Mrs. Lisette Buendia, died two days before the concert. Despite his already unstable condition, Ely opted to push through with the concert and was able to complete the band's first set before retreating backstage where the unfortunate incident took place.

The two-month rest suggested to Ely by his doctors is part of the so-called cardiac rehabilitation program—a medically supervised program given to aid patients with heart disease for them to fully understand and manage their condition.

"Complete rest. No performance and no stress," doctors reportedly advised Buendia.

"Pinoy Dream Academy" Season 2’s Top Six Scholars -- Laarni, Bugoy, Miguel, Liezel, Van and Cris said that they are now ready to face the challenges in the world of music and in showbiz.

The scholars shared their experiences inside the academy, as well as their future plans.

“I’m more open now since before. I’m really reserved but that’s really me. But they told me that I have to be more open especially on stage. So now, I think I gained more confidence,” shared Liezel Garcia on the things she developed while inside the academy.

“I learned a lot inside the academy especially on how to mingle with other people,” Bugoy Drilon said.

“Sensuality in performing... that’s what I’ve learned and it really helped me to win the contest,” said Laarnie Lozada, the Grand Star Dreamer.

Miguel Mendoza, Cris Pastor and Van Roxas were one in saying that the most important thing they’ve learned inside the Academy is the word discipline.

“Discipline, especially on how to take care of yourself and your voice,“ said Mendoza.

The top 6 scholars shared their happiness and excitement saying that they already had projects lined up for them.

They also said that they will concentrate on singing rather than acting.

“Sa ngayon kung ano ang dumating sa akin talagang gagawin ko ang best. Ok sana ay ma-appreciate ng tao kasi nasa akin din naman kung magiging successful ako o hindi kung pababayaan ko ito. Kung ano ang mayroon dapat pagbutihan ko talaga,” Lozada said.

“Gusto ko talaga ito (singing) at maging mas professional pa at magkaroon ng album at more work po sana,” Garcia added.

“Siguro po ito pong pagkanta ay ipu-pursue ko. Pero pag-iisipan ko in five years kung ano ang pinaka-plano ko po. Mag-aaral pa din po ako pero itutuloy ko itong career ko kung pwede,” Drilon said.

Drilon also said that he is willing to be an actor and would be happy to do comic shows.

“Gusto ko pong maging komedyante,” he said.

Mendoza, Pastor and Roxas said that they want to be successful singers, but they are also open to doing acting projects.

“Honestly gusto ko pong mag-acting but I want to work on my diction first, kasi may Visayan accent ako, so I will take diction class po,” Roxas said.

“Okay lang po sa akin ang acting. Pero sana singing muna. Pero kung pwedeng pagsabayin, okay lang po. Sanay naman ako sa maraming trabaho,” added Pastor.

Pastor said that she is also willing to do sexy roles if needed.

Wowowee and Entertainment Live! host Mariel Rodriguez showed off her sexy side during the media launch of the Varga star as product endorser of Hot Pink Lingerie last September 12 at the Podium mall in Pasig.

The launch coincided with revelation of the EDSA billboard featuring the new lingerie model. The brand is owned and designed by Mariel’s sister Kaye.

“I love endorsing a sexy brand like this. I’m happy because of course number one dahil this is my sister’s brand, that’s why there was no hesitation whatsoever kasi kapatid ko siya and also because it’s nice to endorse something that you actually use and that you actually like ‘di ba? Kasi meron naming iba ini-endorse pero hindi naman talaga ginagamit. Then hindi yun maganda ‘di ba?So, here I can talk about it. And I really like it,” the bubbly host gushed.

Mariel said that even though it was her first time to do a really sexy pictorial, she felt comfortable about it. “Sobrang na-excite ako to do it. When we were doing it, I felt so sexy. And nung lumabas, sobrang happy ako. When I saw the billboard, tinext ko kagad sister ko na ang ganda,” she revealed.

Even rumored boyfriend Zanjoe Marudo reportedly liked the shots that came out. “Zanjoe said he liked one photo the most. Sabi niya maganda daw ako dun. Sabi niya I look sexier, bagong look daw,” she shared with a smile.

Now that she’s in a TV series, Mariel said that she would not mind having a sexier image. “Well it’s not like I would wear stuff like this out on the street. The pretty host doesn’t understand what the big deal is in showing some skin, as long as it’s not out of character. “Kasi I also endorse a fitness drink. Tapos I wore rin naman a bathing suit in the commercial and since I also play Varga, sexy si Varga ‘di ba, so ok lang. I love Varga,” she stressed.

When it comes to doing sexier roles onscreen, Mariel still has some reservations. “I don’t know about that, I guess it depends. I cannot say yet. I don’t know talaga at this point. Basta kaya ko no problem. It’s not really an issue with me,” she confessed.

Mariel admits that it’s important as a woman to always feel sexy, even if she’s just going to sleep.

“Even the pajamas that I wore in Pinoy Big Brother, most of it was from Hot Pink. Kasi kung mukhang haggard ka or parang manang ang mukha ko dun, I don’t think I would feel very fabulous nung nasa loob ako. So kahit natutulog ako, masaya.

"I think we Pinoys have a misconception na porke’t matutulog na, parang old T-shirt na yung gamit natin na butas-butas. I agree that it’s comfortable pero try mo rin na maging maganda suot mo, masarap rin. Take for example, nasunog ang bahay mo, tapos kunwari lang, pupunta ka sa presinto, mukha kang haggard because sa suot mo. ‘Di ba hindi ka uunlad sa career?

Controversial actor Gabby Concepcion said that he is doing well despite the problems he is now facing.

Concepcion said that he is hoping that everything will eventually turn out right.

"Everything is doing well... sana maayos ang dapat ayusin. Hindi naman natin gusto itong mga bagay na nangyayari pero kapag nangyari we just have to face it," he said.

Concepcion said that he is very thankful to all his friends, fans and supporters who have stuck with him through thick and thin.

"For as long as we speak the truth I don’t think we can go wrong," the actor said.

Concepcion is now facing a legal battle after his ex-talent manager, FLT producer Rose Flaminiano filed a P22 million civil suit againt him on Tuesday, September 15 at the Quezon City Trial Court.

Flaminiano, with her lawyer Atty. Bonifacio Alentajan, filed the case "Specific Performance and Damages with Application for Writ of Preliminary Injunction and Prayer for Temporary Restraining Order (TRO)" against Concepcion and his lawyer Atty. Raymond Fortun.

The TRO aims to prohibit Concepcion from doing political or commercial endorsements, as well as doing television projects and films.

The case, according to Atty. Alentajan, will serve to teach people to respect contracts.

"Anuman ang ating nilalagdaan, ay dapat igalang natin. Marriage contract man ‘yan o management contract, basta lumagda na tayo, bigyan natin ng kahulugan at igalang natin ang ating lagda kahit sa anumang klase ng dokumento," said Alentajan.

The case filed by Flaminiano stemmed from Concepcion's legal action that asked for the termination of his contract with the talent manager.

In an interview by entertainment show "The Buzz" on Sunday, September 14, Concepcion said that he is rescinding his contract with the producer because of transparency issues and money matters.

Concepcion, through his lawyer Atty. Fortun, sent last week his former manager a formal letter seeking the termination of their contract.

Gabby on "Iisa Pa Lamang"

Concepcion is currently busy with his hit television series "Iisa Pa Lamang" with Claudine Barretto and Diether Ocampo.

He could not hide his excitement as he shared developments taking place in the final weeks of the series.

"May nababalitan ako na very intense na 'yung ending. Nararamdamam ko na napapalapit na 'yung ending ng story. Hinihintay ko na lang kung saan mapupunta si Katerine. 'Yun ang hindi ko pa alam kasi 'yun ang hindi sinasabi sa amin," he said.

Recently, Concepcion launched his self-titled debut album. He had said that singing was one of his frustrations, which is why he recorded the CD.

Concepcion also had his first solo concert dubbed as "Gabby Concepcion On A different Note" which took place in August at the Music Museum in Greenhills, San Juan.

Actor John Lloyd Cruz said that like many other actors, he also wishes to do a movie with ABS-CBN's newest star, KC Concepcion.

"Why not? Lahat ng kilala kong lalaki sa industriyang ito gusto siyang maka-trabaho at hindi ako naiiba doon. I'm one of them," Cruz said.

The actor also dismissed reports comparing his hit movie "A Very Special Love" with Pop Star Princess Sarah Geronimo, with Concepcion's movie "For The First Time" with leading man Richard Gutierrez.

"Hindi maiiwasan 'yon pero showing din kami at hindi pa sila tapos... hindi naman pinagsabay ang playdate so walang pwedeng basis. Siguro kung nagkasabay kami ng playdate baka pwede mong i-compare. Pero to give you an honest answer, wala ako sa posisyon na ikumpara ang pelikula ko sa pelikula nila," Cruz said.

The actor who is now busy with ABS-CBN's latest television series "I Love Betty La Fea" also took time to promote his latest TV project -- a special episode for the country's longest-running drama anthology "Maalaala Mo Kaya (MMK)," hosted by ABS-CBN president Charo Santos-Concio.

In MMK, Cruz will portray a man who is suffering from a mental disorder -- schizophrenia.

"It's very refreshing na makapag-portray ng ganitong character after na gumawa ako ng mga roles ng common people. So ito medyo nakaranas tayo ng kakaibang klaseng utak at puso ng isang character. Refreshing siya para sa akin. Napaka-challenging especially at ginawa siya sa TV. Mas mahirap kasi kapag sa TV," said Cruz.

He said that he had a wonderful time doing the episode especially since he worked for the first time with actress Allesandra de Rossi.

The actor praised de Rossi. He said that she is a briliant and dedicated actress. "I would love to work again with Alex," Cruz said.

The Box Office King said that the episode will show the real meaning of love and sacrifices.

"This will show the greatest love of all...love story ito ng isang wife na talagang hindi iniwan ang asawa niya kahit na may karamdaman ang asawa niya," he added.

Singer Ronnie Liang denied reports saying that he will build a mansion for his showbiz crush Pop Star Princess Sarah Geronimo.

Liang said that he already talked to Geronimo about the reports during their rehearsal for ABS-CBN's weekly entertainment show "ASAP '08."

"Last Saturday kinausap ko si Ms. Sarah at si mommy Divine sabi ko 'Ms. Sarah humihingi ako ng dispensa sa mga naglabsang isyu pero I want to correct it, wala akong sinabi na ibabahay kita sa isang mansion.' Ang sagot niya ay 'oo hayaan mo na yan. Dito sa showbiz talagang ganyan lang. Okay lang 'yon' Ronnie okay lang 'yon,'" Liang said.

The former "Pinoy Dream Academy" scholar said that his words were blown out of proportion. He said that the issue started during a pocket press conference for his September 27 concert, during which he was asked who his showbiz crush is. He honestly answered that he admires Geronimo because of her talent in singing and for possessing good qualities as a person.

He was also asked if it is true that he is building a house, to which he answered 'yes' -- a dream house for his loving family.

"Actually nagpatayo ako ng bahay para sa family ko. After a few days iba na ang ang lumabas na ibabahay ko daw o reregaluhan ko si Sarah ng mansion na may swimning pool. Wala naman po talaga akong sinabi tapos sinabi doon na niligawan ko o liligawan... wala akong sinabi," he explained.

Aside from being busy with his upcoming concert dubbed as "Triple Dare Music" at the Music Museum on September 27, Liang is also involved in his first big television project "I Love Betty La Fea" with Bea Alonzo and John Lloyd Cruz.

"Focus po ako sa career ko ngayon, lalo na ngayon sa Betty La Fea. I have to study my role. Kailangang pag-aralan ang character ko at yung album ko kailangan kong ipromote," he said.

Habang naghihintay si Marian Rivera for her next gap sa Grand Fans' Day ng Dyesebel sa SOP last Sunday, September 14, nakausap ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) ang young actress na mukhang mas relaxed na ngayon.

Si Marian na mismo ang nagkuwento na malapit nang magtapos ang kanilang primetime series ni Dingdong Dantes na Dyesebel. Hanggang October 10 na lang daw ito. Pero hindi pa raw niya alam kung ano ang plano sa magiging finale nila.

"Ngayon kasi, pinaghahandaan pa namin yung mga fight scenes namin sa tubig. Yun kasi ang pinaka-complicated sa aming lahat. Yun talaga ang pinaghahandaan. At saka ang dami pang maglalaban," saad ni Marian.

Tinanong ng PEP si Marian kung ano na ang puwedeng abangan ng mga tagahanga niya pagkatapos ng Dyesebel.

"Well, wala pa namang kinukumpirma sa aking project," sabi niya. "But I hope, since may kontrata ako sa kanila, meron namang susunod. Ayoko rin namang magsabi na, ‘eto ang next ko hangga't hindi pa kami nagkakapirmahan ng kontrata. Hangga't hindi pa kami nagte-taping. Mahirap din kasing mag-assume na ibinigay na sa akin, ‘tapos hindi naman pala mapupunta sa akin. So, ang sakit naman no'n para sa akin. Kapag sigurado na, doon ko na lang sasabihin."

Sinabi naman sa kanya na siguradong may kasunod na siyang proyekto pagkatapos ng Dyesebel. Hindi nga lang daw niya alam kung kailan nila ito sisimulan, lalo pa nga't may pelikula rin silang gagawin ni Dingdong, kasama si Iza Calzado, ang One True Love ng GMA Films. Balitang this Thursday (September 18) na ang story conference.

Parehong bongga at nag-number one sa rating ang Marimar at Dyesebel, so inaasahan na mas bongga ang susunod niyang TV series. Ano ang masasabi ni Marian dito.

"Lahat naman, e! Lahat naman bongga! Iba-iba naman ang lahat!" tawa ni Marian.

Tinanong din ng PEP si Marian kung posible ba na sila pa rin ni Dingdong ang magkapareha sa susunod na series nila.

"Hindi ko lang alam," sagot niya. "Depende lang sa mga manonood kung gusto pa rin ba nila kaming mag-partner, o baka magsawa sila at iba naman ang ibigay sa akin. So, tingnan natin.

"Pero mukha namang sa ngayon, kinikilig pa rin sila sa amin. At saka siyempre, kung kumportable rin lang ang pag-uusapan at gaan katrabaho, siyempre si Dong, kasi ang tagal ko na siyang katrabaho. Kahit anong gawin ko, hindi na ako nahihiya. At saka kami ni Dong, tulungan kami sa pag-arte, tulungan kami sa lahat ng bagay."

Hindi naman sang-ayon si Marian sa mga nagsasabi raw na without her, posibleng bumaba ang popularidad ni Dingdong, or vice versa.

"Ay, hindi! Naniniwala kasi ako na sa isang soap opera, bukod sa lead, yung mga cast nakakatulong, e. Hindi porke't okey ako, okey si Dingdong, e, ibig sabihin okey na, di ba? Naniniwala ako na lahat kami nag-e-effort talaga. Yung love team namin ni Dingdong, yung mga cast, nagtutulungan."

Dagdag niya, "Actually, na-try ko na rin namang mag-solo. Si Dong din naman, e. Pero lahat ng nangyayari sa amin, may katulong kami riyan. Like ako, malaki ang pasasalamat ko sa Dyesebel, pero kung hindi rin naman dahil sa love team ko si Dingdong at sa mga cast na tumutulong din sa amin, hindi rin naman siguro ko mamahalin ng mga tao, di ba?

PROUD TO BE JOLOGS. Isang bagay naman na madalas na naisulat at naikokomento kay Marian ay tungkol sa paraan niya ng pagsasalita, lalo na noong nakaraang birthday concert nila ni Dingdong sa Araneta Coliseum. May ilang nagsasabi na lumabas daw doon ang pagiging "jologs" niya at may iba namang nagsasabi na tipong "palengkera" ang young actress.

Pero maagap ang naging tugon ni Marian sa bagay na ito. Aniya, "Yun ang maganda, e. Kasi si Dingdong, sosyal! Tapos ako, jologs! At aminado ako riyan na jologs ako. Aminado ako na kung malakas man ang boses ko, kung prangka man ako, doon ako minahal ng tao. Kaya ako minahal ng fans ko dahil sa pagiging totoo ko sa sarili ko at wala akong itinago sa kanila."

Dahil ba sa mga natatanggap na comment ay plano niyang baguhin ang naturang personality?

"Ay, hindi!" mabilis niyang tugon. "Kasi ako, kung kailangan sa isang okasyon na maging sosyal, kaya kong maging sosyal, why not? Kung jologs din ang pag-uusapan, kaya kong maging jologs. Kahit saan mo ko ipunta, a-attend ng party at puro mga sosyal, why not? Bakit naman hindi ko kaya? E, eto ako. Eto ang normal ko. Kaya ako minahal ng mga tao, kaya go!"

Ano naman ang message niya sa mga nagsasabi sa kanyang jologs siya?

"Ay naku, ang tagal ko nang jologs! Ang tagal ko nang straight to the point. Manood sila ng Happee toothpaste [commercial] ko, matapang at palaban ang mga Caviteña! So, kanya-kanyang pagkatao lang din ‘yan!" natatawa niyang sabi.

Tingin nga raw niya, yung magkaibang personalidad nila ni Dingdong ang dahilan kung bakit nagki-click din sila.

"E, sosyal si Dong, e! Aminin natin yan! Actually, hindi siguro sosyal kundi mas finesse siya. Kumbaga, ako ang baligtad niya. Kaya kami magkasalungat. May mga bagay na hindi niya alam na itinuturo ko sa kanya. At may mga bagay na hindi ko alam na itinuturo niya sa akin. Hindi kami parehas na sosyal. Hindi kami parehas na jologs. The country's pride, Charice again proved that dreams do come true after she performed a duet with one of her favorite international stars -- Celine Dion, September 15, Tuesday at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

In the concert dubbed as "Taking Chances World Tour, "Charice sang the hit "Because You Loved Me" with her idol Celine.

The song was actually chosen and dedicated for Charice's strength and love -- her mom Raquel Pempengco.

In the concert, the Canadian international star first told the life story of Charice.

"This young girl's name is Charice I'm so excited. She's 16 years old and she's from the Philippines let me tell you she has a voice and can literally blow the roof of Madison Square. But the real story is Charice and her mom escaped a terrifying experience and had to leave Charice's violent father. You know to start a life on their own, Charice thought to save her mom from life's desperation. Through prayers and dreams and God gave talent an incredible voice Charice entered and won every singing contest in her native country and eventually noticed by such a fortunate people saw the show on Oprah and Oprah want to take care of her wings and David Foster joined them.

"I had a chance to see Charice perform one of my song in Oprah last week. I have a little difficulty to talk right now because I met Charice and I'm so emotional and so I'm searching and looking for my words trying to control my emotion. I invited here to come her tonight to sing with me...,” said Celine Dion.

After Celine's lovely introduction to Charice she invited the latter to come up on stage and join her. Celine then told Charice how spectacular she is and how she looked really beautiful.

Celine even asked the young diva how she feels to be with her on the same stage. Charice admitted that she's nervous but Celine calmed her and said that she does not have to be.

"First of all you look spectacular you're beautiful, you're shaking, how do you feel? Don't be nervous I think people will understand that you're nervous. But let me tell you one thing, the talent we're not going to talk about because you have, we're not going to talk about strength because you have (Celine pointing to Charice's mom Raquel Pempengco) and so the love. And I have to tell you that the family we have to talk because you have too, one time my manager my husband told me 'Celine', because when I started to sing I was 12 years old so 12 and 16 it's the same, okay?

"He told me 'Celine I know you're nervous don't be scared you love to sing when you go up there you'll be nervous don't be.' I will give you an image that you can think about, think about that all the people you see in front of you are your brothers and sisters. You are singing in your living room and it's your family," Celine told Charice.

Charice in return said that she was ready to sing and agreed to dedicate their song "Because You Loved Me" to her mother Raquel.

The crowd, in standing ovation, roared and praised Celine and Charice after their performance.

"You did amazing, and the roof of the Madison (blew) up tonight," said Celine.

Celine also said that she loved Charice and that she could not wait to perform with Charice for a full concert.

"When you do perform in Madison Square are you going to invite me? I love you and I can not wait to be with you to perform here for a whole concert," Celine said before she let Charice leave the concert stage.

In Oprah

It will be recalled that Charice guested on Oprah Winfrey's show for the second time last September 9, Tuesday.

Charice thought that she will just have an ordinary conversation with Oprah's "Washington viewer" but she was shocked when her idol Celine appeared on live video conference and gave her message for the young diva.

While crying, Charice listened to Celine's message: "Hi Charice! I have to tell you that I'm speechless. I have heard you sing. I have seen a little of your life story and I am extremely ecstatic like the rest of the world who's watching right now...“I can't tell you that we
have lots of things in common and I also had a mother who is my strength… You have more talent than most people. You can sing, you can speak and sing with your heart, you can play guitar... and you can have dreams because your life story is quite a painful one. Thank God your strength comes from your mother and your heart will go on.”

But what made Charice burst into tears was when Celine offered a special number with her, an offer that Charice will treasure forever.

“If I may, I would love to do something very special with you. Next week, I'm going to be singing at Madison Square Garden and I would love to ask you to come and sing a duet with me. And we can sing together. Maybe we can sing "Because You Loved Me" and maybe we can dedicate this song to your mother. So I hope you can travel to New York and meet with me," says Celine.

Charice earlier told abs-cbnNEWS.com how excited she was to see her idol.

"Naku talagang happy ako kung makikita ko siya. Kahit hindi ko na siya maka-duet okay na sa akin ‘yon," she said.

Charice shared that she would put a checkmark on her dream drawing book where she had drawn Celine's face. Included in Charice's dream drawing book is the famous tenor Andrea Bocceli.


Last July 20th, Charice wowed Italians as she performed at Teatro del Silenzio in Tuscany, Italy with Bocelli for the tenor's birthday concert dubbed "The Cinema Tribute." Charice met the world-famous tenor when she performed for a benefit concert at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas last May.

MANILA, Philippines - May panibagong kaso na kakaharapin si Gabby Concepcion matapos magsampa ng P22 milyong civil suit laban sa aktor ang kanyang dating manager na si Mommy Rose Flaminiano.

Sa Chika Minute portion ng GMA news 24 Oras, ang kaso ay bunsod nang pagtalikod umano ni Gabby sa management contract nito sa talent manager.

Napaluha pa umano si Mommy Rose nang maghain ng civil case laban sa dating alaga na si Gabby at abogado nitong si Raymund Fortun.

Nang tanungin ni GMA news reporter Nelson Canlas ang talent manager kung nabigla ito sa pagtalikod ni Gabby sa kanilang management contract, sagot nito, “Hindi ako nabigla, nasaktan ako ng sobra."

Sa liham daw na ipinadala sa kanya ni Atty Fortun, sinabi umano ni Gabby na ilang ulit nilabag ni Mommy Rose ang kanilang kasunduan.

Reklamo pa umano ni Fortun, sa halip na pangalagaan ang interes ng aktor, naharap pa ito sa kahihiyan at posibleng demanda dahil hindi umano naasikaso ang tax case ni Gabby.

Tumanggap din umano ng mga showbiz commitment si Mommy Rose para sa alaga na hindi alam ni Gabby.

Mariin namang itinanggi ng talent manager ang mga paratang. Idinagdag ni Mommy Rose na nagkausap na sila ni Gabby pero hindi na nya maiuurong ang demanda.

“Katwiran ng mga abogado ko hindi ko sya pwedeng i-command kung talaga bakit daw ba nagsasalita dyan hindi nya ko inintindi, bakit ngayon ako na naman ang mag-iintindi sa kanya," ayon kay Mommy Rose.

Sa kabila ng pagsasampa ng kaso, bukas umano ang kampo ni Mommy Rose na makipag-usap sa kampo ni Gabby upang maayos ang problema.

Sa text message na ipinadala naman ni Atty. Fortun sa GMA News sinabi nito, “Mr Concepcion and I look forward to receiving a copy of the complaint. "Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2" ex-scholar Bugoy Drilon cleared speculations that he was disappointed that he landed as the Second Star Dreamer in ABS-CBN's hit reality contest.

The Farmer's Son, Bugoy said that his statement "Kahit hindi man ako ang Grand Star Dreamer sa puso ko Grand Star Dreamer pa din ako," was just misinterpreted.

"Lahat naman po kasi kami ay Grand Star Dreamer. Sa puso ko ay Grand Star Dreamer ako. Yung kapatid kong si Laarni ay Grand Star Dreamer. Lahat kami ay Grand Star Dreamer... Kahit hindi ako Grand Star Dreamer ay Grand Star Dreamer ako kasi narinig ng tao ang boses ko doon palang," explained Bugoy.

Bugoy said that he is not frustrated with the result of the voting since he respects the people's choice.

"Kumpetisyon 'yon nirerespeto ko kung ano 'yung desisyon na mangyari kung ako o si Laarni o kahit sino sa scholars. Kasi marinig lang ang boses ko makapag-inspire lang ako sa maraming tao ay it's a great achivement na po 'yon," he said.

"Sobrang layo na nitong narating ko kahit second place, kahit top six happy-ng happy po ako kasi ang daming taong gustong makapasok dito," Bugoy added.

"Happy-ng happy po ako kay Laarni she deserves it," he stressed.

The guy from Camarines Sur extended his appreciation to all his loyal fans and supporters saying that he will always keep in his mind the love and trust given to him.

"Thank you po sa inyong lahat salamat po sa suporta. Sa akin po ay mas mahalaga po yung tiwala niyo sa akin yun po ang kini-keep ko sa sarili ko, 'yung nagtiwala kayo sa mga kakayahan ko," he said.

Now, Bugoy's plan is to continue honing his craft since he wants to pursue his dream to become a great performer.

He also dreams of becoming a great chef and to be able to find someone he could fall in love with.

Bugoy or Jay Bogayan in real life is an 18-year-old who was a working student before he entered the Academy. Coming from a poor family in a remote area in Camarines Sur, Bugoy went into university with the dream of earning a degree. He paid his tuition through scholarships and earned extra money while working as a janitor, dish washer and taking on other unusual jobs.

In the farm only the cows and the birds could hear his voice, and a friend who heard him singing while cleaning with a mop, made him realize that he could actually sing. He then joined school competitions and then decided to try out for PDA.

Katunayan, sa ”Dyesebel” special na ginawa sa entertainment variety show na S.O.P. nitong Linggo, kita pa ang cast sa kamay ni Dingdong habang kumakanta.

Sa kabila ng mga nangyari wala naman daw sinisisi ang gwapong binata.

“Hindi naman maiiwasan ang aksidente sa taping. Much siguro ‘pag ano ka, into your character minsan nagkakaroon ng mga things na hindi mo makontrol, so aksidente lang sa ’kin,” ani Dingdong.

Inamin ni Dingdong na nagkamali siya ng kalkulasyon nang suntukin ang puno kaya tinatawanan na lang nya ang mga nangyari.

“Matibay talaga ang forces of nature. Huwag natin syang kakalabanin," nakangiting pahayag ng binata.

Nabahala naman sa nangyari ang leading lady ni Dingdong sa "Dyesebel" na si Marian Rivera, na wala sa set nang maganap ang insidente.

“Nang magpunta ako sa taping may nagsabi sa akin na nasa ospital daw si Dong. Sabi ko ba’t nasa ospital? Nabalian daw. Tinawagan ko sya sabi ko anong nangyari sa’yo,” kwento ng dalaga.

Napawi naman daw kaagad ang pag-aalala ni Marian nang makausap ang binata.

Concert Queen Pops Fernandez denied reports that she is now getting closer to controversial comeback actor Gabby Concepcion.

Fernandez said that she never had a relationship with Concepcion and stressed that she never will.

"No, no, never... parang kilala n'yo naman who I'd been with before. Wag na nating ultin yun," she said.

Fernandez's statement stemmed from reports that she and her friend Nadia Montenegro had something to do with Concepcion's decision to leave his talent manager FLT producer Rose Flaminiano.

"Actually nagulat ako ba't ako nasali doon," Fernandez said. She said she also cannot speak for her Montenegro, since she has no clear idea what the reports actually said.

Fernandez also said that the reports saying that she is now close to Concepcion are far from reality since she still has a strong romantic relationship with actor Jomari Yllana.

She said that she just got a chance to work with Concepcion when the actor asked her to guest in his concert.

"I knew Gabby from before. We were never close. I saw him again then he asked me to guest in his Music Museum show," she said.

She also laughed off the issue that she was the inspiration and the singing coach of Concepcion, when he decided to pursue his singing career.

"No....no of course not, ang galing galing ko naman," Fernandez ended.

Award-winning actress Judy Ann Santos is very much happy with her role as Nurse Jane Alcantara on Humingi Ako Sa Langit since it honed her acting skills all the more. The biggest challenge for her though is to familiarize herself with the medical terms and the proper handling of patients to make the soap as authentic as possible.

“It’s a very different approach on my part kasi kagagaling ko lang sa pagluluto (Ysabella) na master na master ko, tapos pupunta ako sa isang aspeto na wala akong kaalam-alam, darling. Kaya ‘pag nagpapa-ER ako ngayon, para akong loka-loka kasi naka-observe talaga ako sa mga nurse. Having professional doctors on the set ensures that they’re pretty much accurate on the medical aspects of the show, something which will also give the viewers some useful information as well as a good dose of drama.

“In a way nae-educate din ako to the point na yung mga kasama ko tinatanong ako, ‘Nay Ploning, ano’ng sakit ‘pag ganito ang symptoms?’ Sasabihin ko, ‘Sandali hindi pa ako nurse, darating tayo d’yan.’ But seriously ang dami kong natutunan about everything—cancer, hepatitis, AIDS—na kung malaki lang ang memory ko malamang walking encyclopedia na ako ngayon,” she says with a laugh.

Through Humingi Ako Sa Langit, people will also get to appreciate the various struggles of Filipino nurses who desperately want to earn their way to a better quality of life.

“Nakakatense pero nakakaaliw na I was able to play their part. If that would be the way to show the Filipinos here in Manila and abroad kung gaano kahirap ang pinagdadadaan ng mga nurses dito at sa ibang bansa, bakit hindi? Para magkaroon sila ng mas mataas na respeto hindi lang sa mga doktor kundi pati sa nurses,” she stresses.

On a lighter note, Judy Ann confides that her working relationship with onscreen partner Derek Ramsay is better than ever. After their successful team-up in Ysabella, they continued to be good friends and occasionally sought each other’s advice during tough times.

“Wala kasing issue sa ‘min ni Derek eh. Maganda lang kasi naging maayos yung friendship namin so yun siguro yung lumalabas na rapport namin onscreen. Na nakakatuwa kasi ‘di ka na madaling makakakuha ng ganong kapartner na magkakaron kayo ng instant rapport. Si Derek okay naman siya, magaling naman siya, ‘di naman siya mahirap katrabaho so I hope abangan ng mga tao ‘to kasi ibang-iba rin siya dito,” she grins.

Adding spice to their romance on Humingi Ako Sa Langit is Will Devaughn’s character. The show’s production manager Ethel Espiritu confides that having a second love interest for Judy Ann—one who’s also tall, dark, and handsome like Derek—happens to be one of the significant threads of the story.

For now, however, Judai feels blessed with all the dashing actors that have been cast as her leading men throughout her teleserye career.

“Sabi ko nga kung totoong buhay lang ‘to napakahaba naman ng hair ko dahil mula’t sapul, mula Mara Clara pa lang, siguro yung buhok ko lumibot na ng buong mundo at nakabalik na sa akin ng ganon ganon na lang. Siguro ganon talaga, kailangan sa isang soap, perfect yung mga kapartner mo kasi kailangan ikaw yung maglalagay ng imperfections sa kanila,” she quips.

Maraming tagahanga ng young actress na si Jennylyn Mercado ang matutuwa sa balitang nakuha ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal). Ayon sa mismong PR manager ng OctoArts Films na si Ms. Aster Amoyo ay kasama na si Jennylyn sa cast ng One Night Only. Ito ang magsisilbing comeback project ng kauna-unahang StarStruck Ultimate Female Survivor pagkatapos niyang isilang ang anak nila ng dati niyang boyfriend na si Patrick Garcia.

Ang One Night Only ay isa sa dalawang entries ng film company ni Boss Orly Ilacad sa 2008 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF). Ang isa pa ay ang reunion movie nina Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, at Joey de Leon na Iskbul Bukol 20 Years After (The Adventures of Victorio Ungasis and the Escalera Brothers).

Makakasama ni Jennylyn sa One Night Only sina Katrina Halili, Diana Zubiri, Paolo Contis, Alessandra de Rossi, Ricky Davao, Jon Avila, Candy Panglinan, Chokoleit, Jason Gainza, at ang mga kapatid ni Jennylyn sa management ni Becky Aguila na sina Valerie Concepcion at Joross Gamboa.

Matatandaang noong unang prinesenta ang One Night Only sa screening committee ng MMFF ay kasama sa cast ang ilan sa prime talents ng Star Magic, ang talent arm ng ABS-CBN. Pero napabalitang pinull out ang mga ito dahil ayaw raw ng Star Magic na magmukhang suporta ang mga alaga nila kay Katrina, na isang Kapuso star.

Ang bagay na ito ay hindi kinumpirma ng Star Magic at maging ng ilan sa mga artistang naunang naugnay sa pelikula. Pero sa presscon para kay Katrina noon kasabay ng pagpirma niya ng kontrata sa OctoArts Films, nabanggit ni Boss Orly ang mga pangalan nina Angelica Panganiban, Diether Ocampo, at Roxanne Guinoo na kasama rin sa pelikula na ididirek ni Joey Reyes.

Pinagtalunan kasi noon kung sino ang magiging bida sa One Night Only at kung sino ang mauuna sa billing kung natuloy nga si Katrina at ang ilang Star Magic talents. Pero nilinaw naman ni Direk Joey na ang istorya ng pelikulang siya rin ang sumulat ay iikot sa lahat ng characters sa isang motel sa loob lamang ng isang magdamag.

Laarni Lozada, a 22-year-old working student from Sultan Kudarat, was voted winner of ABS-CBN's top-rated talent show Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2 Sunday night.

Laarni, who was dubbed the show's "Independent Woman" for her quicksilver temper and amazing vocal range, garnered a total of 651,696 votes or 35.21 percent to beat Jay "Bugoy" Bogayan, a canteen janitor and farm hand from Camarines Sur, who placed second with 547,760 votes.

It was an emotional victory for Laarni who struggled in the early part of the contest and was in danger of elimination in her very first week in the academy. She also got in spats with fellow scholars because of her moods but always impressed the audience and the judges week after week because of her performance.

After being declared Grand Star Dreamer, Laarni was in tears as she sang the show-stopping "Manalig Ka", which was included in the scholars' compilation album "Pinoy Dream Academy Season Two Scholars Sing Cayabyab." Her prize package includes a laptop computer, component and LCD television from Sony, kitchen showcase from Whirlpool, P1.5 million worth of Crystal Clear purified water store franchise, a brand new house and lot from Globe Asiatique and a check worth P1 million from ABS-CBN.

Second-placer Bugoy sang "Climb Every Mountain" and gave an emotional speech to his supporters for bringing him one step closer to his dreams. "Mangarap po tayo. Kahit simpleng tao pwedeng mangarap!" he said as his fans cheered.

Balladeer and former Philippine Idol finalist Miguel Mendoza placed third with 13.69 percent or 253,402 votes. Mendoza, who entered in the academy with his girlfriend Bea Munoz, had been in danger of elimination several times but was always saved through text votes.

Five-time Star Scholar Liezel Garcia placed fourth in the contest with 13.36 percent or a total of 247,346 votes. Garcia, an early favorite in the contest, thanked the mentors for the training while inside the academy.

Van Roxas placed fifth with 6.06 percent or a total of 112,065 votes. The 18-year-old Roxas (real name Van Louelle Pojas) had revealed early in the contest that he did not tell his mother about how long he would stay inside the academy since he had to skip school to join. He was later prevailed upon to stay in the academy by the PDA mentors.

In last place was Cristina Pastor, 21, with 36,487 votes.

Nitong September 13 ginanap ang first birthday ng love child nina Dennis Trillo at Carlene Aguilar na si Calix. Pero on the eve of his son's first birthday, nag-first taping day naman si Dennis ng kanyang fantaseryeng Gagambino at sa naturang set nga siya nakausap ng Startalk.

Ayon kay Dennis, masaya raw siya na one-year-old na nga ang anak.

"Masaya! Siyempre, pati ako excited kasi, magwa-one year old na siya at napakabilis talaga ng panahon ngayon. Nakakagulat na one year old na siya. Excited kaming lahat."

Tulad nga raw ng napagkasunduan nina Carlene at Dennis, magiging pribado raw ang naturang children's party. Ang wish nga ni Dennis para sa anak ay "Wish ko sa kanya na lumaki siyang mabait. Masunuring bata. Maging matalino at saka, mabait..."

Natawa si Dennis sa sumunod na tanong sa kanya ng Startalk kung may plano na raw ba siyang bigyan ng kapatid ang anak?

"Hindi ko muna iniisip yun, e. Darating ang panahon, pero, malayo pa siguro yun. Bata pa si Calix and hindi siguro maganda kung susundan ko kaagad yun."

When asked if si Carlene pa rin ba ang nais niyang maging ina ng susunod niyang anak, Dennis said, "Hindi ko masasabi ‘yan. Hindi ako manghuhula para malaman ko yun. At saka, wala pa...hindi ko pa talaga iniisip yun, e."

Katulad nga raw ng ginagampanang role ni Dennis sa Gagambino, hangad din daw ni Dennis na maging isang "Superdad" para sa anak na si Calix.

"Bilang isang superhero na ama...hmmm...siyempre, poprotektahan. Magbibigay ka ng maraming oras palagi para palagi kang nakabantay sa kanya. Maalagaan nang maayos."

Ayon kay Dennis, he really makes it a point that he has time for his son.

"Of course, hinahanapan ko palagi ng oras. Kapag may time ako, binibisita ko para at least...gusto ko talaga na makilala niya ‘ko ng maayos. Masubaybayan ko ang paglaki niya.

Kinamusta rin ng Startalk ang dalawang Starstruck avenger na makakasama ni Dennis sa Gagambino, sina Katrina Halili at Nadine Samonte. Pero aniya, sa Gagambino lang daw siguro ang love triangle nila.

"Love triangle sa story. Pero sa totoong buhay, hindi ko masabi...sa ngayon, focus muna tayo sa Gagambino. Focus sa career. Kung anuman ang mangyari sa totoong buhay, bahala na...
