wo of the country's most sought-after balladeers Christian Bautista and Erik Santos are both set to collaborate in "Face-Off" an album and concert project under Star Records and Warner Music Philippines.

It looks like not only ABS-CBN and GMA-7 are realizing the benefits of cooperation as opposed to the usual competition between rival enterntainment and/or mucis companies.

Both Star Records and Warner Music Philippines are very excited about the distinct and interesting concept. “It hasn’t been done before so it’s only fair na gawin namin as both Star Records and Warner Music Philippines will also benefit from this unique project.” said Jim Baluyut, General Manager of Warner Music Philippines.

“Sabihin na natin na sina Erik and Christian are the two hottest male balladeers not only in our country but in Asia, so magandang pagsamahin sa isang collaboration album ng Warner at Star Records yung dalawang artists.” said Annabelle Regalado, Managing Director of Star Records.

Erik and Christian will be releasing their "Face-Off" album by September 2008, consisting of 18 songs made famous by the two, plus 2 original songs to be collaborated by both.

“We wanted to do something new this year, so this is one of them… a collaboration,” Christian said. “Erik and I decided to work together para maipakita sa mga fans namin what we can do together.”

Erik is also very enthusiastic about his chance to work with Christian. “Excited ako to do this project kasi first time lang namin ni Christian magsasama sa isang concert na kami lang talagang dalawa. Sa Pilipinas kasi lagi na lang ang nagbaback-to-back ay kung hindi boy at girl, parehong girls. Ngayon, parehong lalake naman.”

The Face-Off concert will be held in Araneta Coliseum sometime in November. Erik and Christian will come face to face as they let their fans see and hear them blend their music, live.

"Aminado na naman po akong mataba naman talaga ako."

Ito ang direktang tinuran ni Francine Prieto nang makapanayam sya ng "StarTalk" nitong Sabado.

Sa nakaraang underwear fashion event ng Bench, may negatibong mga komento kay Francine dahil naging kapansin-pansin ang malusog niyang pangangatawan.

“Mataba naman talaga ako. Pero yun mga parang naano ko pa na sinasabi na pinagtatawanan daw ako...parang bakit mo ko pagtatawanan mukha ba ‘kong katawa-tawa," paglalahad ng aktres.

Ngunit depensa ni Francine na nais niyang ipakita na hindi lang ang mga sexy at payat ang may karapatang mag-underwear.

“Hindi naman po kailangang maging payat ka para makapagsuot ka ng underwear, di ba? So kung baga kahit na bilugan ka o malaki ka pwede ka pang magsuot ng underwear. (Pero) ayoko naman po na maapektuhan yun mga iniendorse ko, kailangan ko po talagang gawan ng paraan," pahayag ng dalawa.

May ginagawa ba si Francine upang mabawasan ang timbang? Kasama ba rito ang tulong ng siyensa o liposuction?

“Ay hindi po. Actually, kaya po hindi mabilis kaagad ang nangyayari sa akin kasi ang ginagawa ko sa natural na paraan… So nagte-tennis…saka jogging po talaga," paglilinaw niya.

Idinagdag ni Francine: “Pwedeng kumain kahit anong gusto ko at least nabi-burn ko naman po. Hindi tulad ng dati na wala talaga akong mga workout na ginagawa basta diet lang ‘di ako kumakain."

Sa panayam, inamin din ni Francine na loveless pa rin siya ngunit hindi umano ito dahil sa paglusog ng kanyang katawan.

“Walang nakaka-type sa akin kasi mukha nga akong suplada. Siguro dahil sa feature ko po na masyadong sharp po yata," paliwanag niya.

“Yun po yata ang medyo parang nai-intimidate po yata ang mga lalaki…parang hindi sila naglalakas ng loob na lapitan ako," pagtatapos ni Francine. - Fidel, Jimenez, GMANews.TV

Nakarating sa PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) ang balitang inimbita ng GMA Films si Gabby Concepcion sa premiere night ng I.T.A.L.Y. (I Trust And Love You), September 14, sa SM Megamall. Nakapag-usap na raw ang aktor at ang executives ng GMA Films na sina Annette Gozon-Abrogar at Joey Abacan.

Nabanggit daw ni Gabby na iho-honor niya ang pinirmahang kontrata sa film company ng GMA-7. Ang pagdating ng aktor sa premiere night ay patunay na ayos na ang gusot na dala ng pag-back out niya noon sa pelikula.

Matatandaang naging malaking isyu ang pag-urong ni Gabby sa I.T.A.L.Y., na dapat sana'y comeback movie niya, at the last minute. Ang role na dapat sa kanya ay napunta kay Dennis Trillo. Feeling "lucky" naman si Dennis noon na sa kanya naipasa ang project dahil nakapunta siya sa Europe at nakapag-cruise sakay ng cruise ship na Costa Magica nang libre.

Nakapanayam ng PEP si Jolina kahapon, September 12, para sa promo ng kanyang Destiny album under GMA Records. Ang carrier single nitong "Will of the Wind" ang ginamit na theme song ng I.T.A.L.Y. Bago tapusin ang pakikipag-usap sa singer-actress, hiningan namin siya ng reaksiyon sa posibleng pagdating ni Gabby sa premiere night ng pelikula.

"Hindi ko alam kung ano ang magiging reaction ko, e," sagot ni Jolina. "Dumating siya kung gusto niyang manood. Pero ako, gusto kong mag-enjoy sa premiere night, gusto kong namnamin ang gabi with the people na kasama kong naghirap na tapusin ang movie. Kung dumating siya, okey lang. Kung hindi dumating, ayos din lang. Ayoko agad mag-judge."

Kinulit namin siya, paano nga kung dumating si Gabby?

"In case na dumating, tingnan natin kung ano ang mangyayari. Iba kasi ‘pag nandun na. As of now, hindi ko pa alam ang magiging reaction ko. Ang pinaghahandaan ko ay ang mapanood ang kabuuan ng movie. Nasilip ko na siya nang mag-voice over ako at gusto ko namang namnamin ang buong movie, gusto kong makita," saad ni Jolina.

Ikinuwento ni Jolina na nag-text sa kanya si Direk Mark Reyes at sinabing "You'll be proud of the movie," kaya lalo siyang na-excite na mapanood ito. Para raw sa fans nila nina Rufa Mae Quinto, Mark Herras, Rhian Ramos, at Eugene Domingo ang I.T.A.L.Y.

Biglang naisip ni Jolina na baka akalaing pa-goody-goody ang sagot niya sa sa tanong ng PEP sa posibleng pagdating ni Gabby sa premiere night kaya nagpaliwanag ito.

"Ayoko lang may pumasok na nakakasira sa loob ko sa gabi ng premiere," paglilinaw niya. "Hindi natin alam at ayokong magsalita ng tapos. ‘Pag nandun na, hindi ko na alam ang mangyayari. Hindi ako galit, at sa ganda ng movie, hindi na ako nag-iisip ng kahit anong sama ng loob."

Sa palagay niya, may dapat bang panghinayangan si Gabby ‘pag napanood nito ang I.T.A.L.Y.?

"Hindi ko alam at hindi ako puwedeng mag-judge na dapat manghinayang siya. Hindi pa puwede dahil hindi pa kami nag-uusap. Wala pa siyang effort na kausapin kami," sabi ni Jolina.

WISH FOR GABBY. Tinanong ng PEP si Jolina kung ano ang masasabi niya sa mga nangyayari kay Gabby ngayon, gaya ng conflict nito sa manager niyang si Mrs. Rose Flaminiano.

Aniya, "Honestly, hindi ko alam na maraming isyu sa kanya at hindi ko na alam ang nangyayari sa kanya. Naaano lang ako na sana, kahit maraming negative sa kanya, wish ko lang, matupad pa rin ang reason ng pag-uwi niya na para sa dad niya. Inilagay ko sa puso ko at masaya pa rin for him na nakasama niya ang dad niya and, up to now, yun pa rin ang wish ko."

Dagdag ni Jolina, "Para huwag na lang akong masaktan at magkaroon ng grudge, inisip ko na lang na kaya ginawa ni God na makauwi siya, para makita niya ang dad niyang may sakit."

May chance pa bang maayos ang problema sa pagitan nila ni Gabby?

"Kung may tamang pag-uusap sa tamang lugar, why not?" sagot niya. "For me, ‘pag nag-usap ang dalawang taong hindi nagkaintindihan, dapat sa tamang oras at tamang lugar, at alam mong nag-uusap kayo nang totoo."

Paano kung aksidente silang magkita sa isang okasyon?

"Sabi ko nga, may tamang oras at at lugar para diyan. Naging friends naman kami at sana kung maayos, di sana pagpiyestahan," sabi ni Jolina.

DADDY JUN ALSO REACTS. Kinuha rin ng PEP ang reaksiyon ng ama ni Jolina na si Mr. Jun Magdangal sa posibleng pagdating ni Gabby sa premiere night ng I.T.A.L.Y. Kung may mas nasaktan sa pagba-back out ng aktor sa GMA Films movie, si Mr. Magdangal yun dahil siya ang nagka-idea na pagsamahin sa pelikula ang anak at si Gabby. Si Mr. Magdangal ang unang nakipag-usap dito at willing pa ngang makipag-co-produce na later on. Pero inayawan din niya.

"Ewan ko, hindi ko alam at wala akong masabi. Last na nag-usap kami ay nang talikuran kami at ang pelikula. Nag-i-email ako, pero hindi niya sinasagot," sabi ng ama ni Jolina.

If ever dumating nga si Gabby, magkaroon kaya ng reconciliation sa pagitan nila?

"Bakit ako mag-e-effort?" sagot ni Mr. Magdangal. "In the first place, hindi kami ang umatras and, in the [second] place, tinalikuran niya kami. Kung ako ang sinunod niya, puwede namang gumawa siya ng pelikula sa ibang bansa at hindi siya aapak sa Pilipinas, hindi niya kailangang umuwi at wala sana ang mga gulong ito ngayon."

Ayon sa kuwento ni Mr. Magdangal, ang daming tanong at reklamo raw ni Gabby sa I.T.A.L.Y. Hindi raw kilala ng aktor—na nawala sa sirkulasyon sa loob ng 13 years—sina Rufa Mae Quinto, Rhian Ramos, Mark Herras, at Eugene Domingo. Nag-dialogue pa raw itong paano magiging comeback movie niya ang project kung marami silang magkakasama.

"Kung dumating siya, I think it's too late, huwag na lang yun," sabi ni Mr. Magdangal. "Saka moment ito nina Jolina at ng mga kasama niya sa cast, ibigay na lang niya. Kami ang naghirap, ‘tapos biglang may lalabas na naging cause ng problema dati."

Paano kung makipagbati na si Gabby sa kanila? Kung maging daan para magkaroon ng reconciliation ang pagdating nito sa premiere night?

"Hindi ba sa hustisya, ‘pag may ginawa kang mali, kailangang may parusa muna? As long as hindi siya nagso-sorry at nagkakapatawaran, mahirap yun. Kung ako ang tatanungin, hindi na siya dapat mag-appear. Kung may reconciliation, not this time, at kung magkakabati, in God's time, huwag i-pressure. Malalim ang sugat na ginawa niya, may mga binitawan siyang salita na hindi maganda. Hindi lang kami ang nainsulto sa ginawa niya, pati ang writers at ang GMA Films."

Halimbawang lumapit sa kanya si Gabby at mag-sorry, ano ang gagawin ng ama ni Jolina?

"Ewan ko. Iba ito sa pagdating niya sa premiere night ng movie [For The First Time] nina KC Concepcion at Richard Gutierrez. Dumating siya because of his daughter. Yung iniwan niya kami sa ere, ibang usapan yun. Delicadeza ang usapan dito. Naaawa rin ako sa kanya, but it is his own doing," pahayag ni Mr. Magdangal.

Samantala, nagulat ang PEP sa nalamang hindi pa nakukumpilan si Jolina, pero naka-schedule na. Pareho silang hindi pa nakukumpilan ng nobyong si Bebong Muñoz.

"Excited na ako sa kumpil at nag-usap na kami ni Bebong na sabay kaming magpapa-kumpil at okey sa kanyang sabay kami. Natawa ako at hindi pa rin siya nakukumpilan. Ang tanong nga ngayon ay hindi kung kailan ang kasal, kundi kailan ang kumpil. Nakakatuwa!" pagtatapos ni Jolina. - Philippine Entertainment Portal

Now, he appears as the newest superhero in “Komiks Presents Mars Ravelo’s Tiny Tony”.

Prats’ role as the small but powerful superhero suits him perfectly.

The cast recently had acting workshops and pictorials for the mini-series. John wore his orange costume and will don blue hair.

Kahit hindi si Paolo Contis ang cover boy ng Cosmomen sa Cosmopolitan Bachelors 2008, si Paolo ang naging pang-finale sa last night's Cosmo Bachelors' Bash na ginanap sa A Venue Events Hall in Makati City.

May temang "Wet and Wild" ang Cosmo show sa taong ito, kaya naman naka-topless and white pants si Paolo at wet na wet nang rumampa na sa stage. Umamin sa interbyu niya sa PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) matapos niyang rumampa na kinabahan siya sa unang pagkakataon niya sa Cosmo Bachelors' Bash.

"Kinakabahan ako kasi, pinulikat ako habang umaakyat! Sabi ko sa trainer ko, ‘Stretch mo, stretch mo!' Siguro kasi, kinakabahan ako. Pero alam n'yo, dahil siguro first time kong ginawa yun, buong hapon, hindi ako kinakabahan. Noong sumampa lang, saka lang ako medyo kinabahan ng konti," natatawang kuwento pa ni Paolo.

SUPPORT FROM DINGDONG. Ang kaibigan at gym buddy niyang si Dingdong Dantes daw ang isa sa nakapagpa-convince sa kanya para rumampa.

"Si Dingdong kasi, isa siya sa mga kasama ko palagi sa gym. So, sabi niya, ‘Paganda ka nang paganda palagi ng katawan. Sabihin natin sa Cosmo, gagawin mo.' So, yun, tinawagan nga nila ‘ko."

And speaking of Dingdong, tinupad nga nito ang pangakong kapag si Paolo naman ang rarampa ay susuportahan din niya ito tulad ng ginawa rin ni Paolo na pagsuporta kay Dingdong noong Blackout naman.

"Masaya! Masaya ‘ko! Kasi, nasa taping siya ngayon ng Dyesebel. Pero, pinuntahan niya ‘ko during their dinner break kahit na malayo ang taping niya. Pinuntahan niya ko to make sure na okey ako. Sayang nga lang, hindi siya nakaabot sa mismong ramp, pero, babalik ulit siya mamaya, magkikita kami para maghanap kami ng buffet!

"Baka kumain kami sa Dampa! Tatlong linggo akong hindi kumakain, so, pina-reserve ko na ang lahat ng sugpong puwedeng kainin," masaya pa rin niyang kuwento.

Hindi na rin daw nagawa ni Paolo ang pinag-usapan nila ni Dingdong na uminom muna siya ng isang shot para pampalakas ng loob.

"Hindi ko na nga nagawa! Nasa plano ko nang tumungga, pero, sa sobrang kaba. Ang dami kong planong gawin sa stage. Uminom sa stage... Kaso kinabahan ako, wala akong nagawa. Pero buti na lang na-enjoy ko rin sa second kong labas, nawala rin ang kaba."

Dahil sa pagpapaganda niya ng katawan, posible ba na ang kasunod nito ay ang pagtanggap naman niya ng mas sexier at mas daring na role?

"Tingnan natin... Kung darating, darating ‘yan. Sayang naman ang pagpapaganda ko, kung itatago na lang natin palagi. E, di, pataba na lang tayo ulit. Basta naman magandang materyal, magandang project, puwede naman nating gawin."

ISABEL'S SUPPORT. Katabi ng PEP ang girlfriend ni Paolo na si Isabel Oli, kung kaya't kitang-kita namin nang mapapalakpak ito at halatang very proud nang lumabas na nga ang boyfriend sa stage.

Ikalawang pagrampa na lang din nang makita ni Paolo ang girlfriend sa audience. Nag-flying kiss pa siya rito. Obviously na sa naging desisyon ni Paolo na rumampa at magpa-sexy ay naging all-out din ang suporta sa kanya ng girlfriend.

Ano'ng masasabi niya rito?

"Masaya! Alam n'yo, kausap ko siya kahapon. Sabi nga niya, ‘Kung maiilang ka na nandyan ako, hindi ako pupunta. Hihintayin na lang kita sa labas.' Sabi ko, ‘Hindi. Pumunta ka! Kahit naman ano ang gawin ko, alam kong hindi ka magagalit, e. At saka, wala naman akong gagawing bastos.'"

E, nang makita na nga niya si Isabel na nanonood sa kanya, mas kinabahan ba siya? Mas nailang?

"Hindi, hindi. At saka, isa nga siya sa mga dahilan kung bakit hindi ako kinakabahan masyado. Alam ko na nandyan siya. Alam ko na kahit walang pumalakpak, may isang papalakpak. At least, sure ako dun!"

Sey pa rin ni Paolo, "Alam n'yo, malaking tulong din si Isabel na hindi siya nakikialam with whatever I do. She's very supportive at hindi niya ‘ko sinasabihan na huwag mong gawin ‘yan, huwag mong gawin ‘to. Alam niya na kapag nagdesisyon ako, kaya kong i-justify yun. Isa ‘yun sa malaking tulong kasi, mahirap kapag pinapakialaman ako, which is, hindi naman ganoon si Isabel."

CONFIDENT THAT HE COULD DELIVER. Nangiti lang si Paolo at halatang masaya nang sabihin namin na in-terms of palakpak, walang-duda na hinintay nga ng lahat ang pagiging finale niya at marami ang pumalakpak nang makita na siya.

"Well, yun... Actually, yun ang pinakanakakakaba. Yung feeling mo na walang papalakpak sa ‘yo, kaya nang marinig ko naman ang response ng tao, gumaan na ang loob ko."

Ayon kay Paolo, wala naman daw siyang fear na baka ma-disappoint lang ang manonood sa kanya or hindi niya ma-meet ang expectations ng mga ito.

"Kung sa katawan or what, hindi naman... Pinaghandaan ko namang mabuti. Ayoko namang sumabak ng hindi ako handa. I'm confident naman na magagawa ko kung ano ang gustong ipagawa ng audience." - Philippine Entertainment Portal

Actress Roxanne Guinoo admitted she felt tense during the kissing scene she had with actor JC de Vera for “Emergency,” an episode of Regal Films' "Shake, Rattle & Roll X", the tenth installment of the highly successful Pinoy horror film franchise.

It was Roxanne's third time to do be in the "Shake, Rattle & Roll " cast but her first time to work with JC.

"Okay naman si JC hindi siya madamot sa pag-arte. Talagang binibigay niya lahat," Roxanne said.

The "Ligaw na Bulaklak" star revealed that did the kissing scene with JC even though they didn't even get the chance to talk about the scene first.

"Ginawa namin yung scene hindi pa kami naguusap; pero ginawa namin yung scenes as if close na kami," she said.

She said that she's also excited to watch the film to see if the people will like their tandem.

"Curious din ako kung effective. Looking forward din ako na makatrabaho siya sa ibang project," she added.

Roxanne said that her character in the movie is really different from her past roles. In the movie she plays the character of a doctor, a woman who is sophisticated, dedicated and mature.

She also admitted to feeling that, as an actress, she still has a lot to learn.

"Ako in terms of acting gust ko pa ding matuto. Hindi pa ako confident sa sarili ko pagdating sa trabaho kaya willing akong matuto. Gusto kong maging actress hindi lang basta star," explains Roxanne.

Roxanne first made headlines for a sexy liquor commercial and then a sexy magazine pictorial. She also became controversial because of her romantic affairs.

Recently, she broke up with actor Jake Cuenca. She said that though she's single she's enjoying her career and she just focuses on her work.

"Hindi binibigay talaga ni Lord ang lahat I've learned a lot from that experience takot na ulit akong magkaamli at magkroon ng decision na hindi dapat. Ngayon alam ko na ang dapat i-prioritize."

She said that she's happy for Cuenca's career and love life if there's any.

"Ayaw kong pakialaman yung personal na niya. Masaya na yung tao at maging masaya na tayo sa kanya at masaya na ako,” she ended.

In celebration of Regal Films’ 48th anniversary, multi-awarded actress Judy Ann Santos and kapuso top heartthrob Dennis Trillo will star in a Halloween movie “Mag-ingat Ka Sa Kulam.”

“Malaking bahagi ng buhay ko bilang actress ang Regal at masaya ako at nagbabalik ako through another acting challenge sa Mag-ingat ka sa…Kulam. Dapat nilang mapanood ito dahil pinaghirapan at pinaganda talaga itong pelikulang ito na siyang pagbabalik ko sa Regal after almost three years,” said Judy Ann.

Actor Richard Gutierrez dismissed reports which said that he will be moving to ABS-CBN from its rival network GMA-7.

In an interview, the actor said that he is thankful to the Kapamilya network for welcoming him as a guest artist for the movie "For the First Time" with KC Concepcion. He said however that he would still remain a 'Kapuso' star.

"Wala ‘yong mga balitang 'yon, hindi totoo 'yon I'm just very happy na tinanggap ako ng ABS-CBN as their guest. Dream come true na makapunta ako doon at makabisita doon, masaya lahat pero siyempre hindi ko kakalimutan ang home network," he said.

Gutierrez explained that he is thankful that his mother network allowed him to do a movie with Kapamilya's movie outfit Star Cinema.

"Sila ang nag-allow sa akin na bumisita sa ABS-CBN. Ang sarap lang ng feeling na ‘yong two networks ay nag-a-agree at nag-u-unite kahit sandali lang at kami ni KC ang naging instrumemnto pero ‘yon lang ‘yon, walang lipatan na mangyayari," he stressed.

Gutierrez said that he is now excited to do a follow up movie with Concepcion but this time it will be produced by GMA Films.

"I’m very excited for our next movie... actually GMA 7 is conceptualizing the movie and we are very excited," he said.

The actor said that he will be happy to do movies anywhere, as long as he's working with Concepcion.

"Ako kahit saan basta kasama ko si KC," he said.

It will be recalled that most of scenes in the movie “For the First Time” were shot in Santorini, Greece.

Dubbed as the “Super Idol Philippine Cinema,” Gutierrez said that his relationship with Concepcion is now getting stronger especially after they shot the film.

"Mas tumibay ang samahan namin ni KC after the movie after the experiences we had together, lalo kaming tumibay na dalawa," he said.

When asked on what is the real score between him and KC, Gutierrez said: "Kami ni KC right now we are just enjoying each other's company, we are having fun and I consider her as my inspiration. ‘Yon muna kami ngayon," Gutierrez said.

The actor extended his appreciation to KC, who is now in San Francisco, USA for the premiere night of their first movie together. He said that he is proud of the courage the actress has shown and capability to handle problems especially while doing the film.

"I want to thank her. She gave her best. Binuksan niya ang sarili niya sa publiko. She's very strong, hinarap ang responsibilidad niya at ang mga problema niya. First movie niya ito at naitawid niya nang maganda ang pelikula. She did well," he said.

15-year-old Filipina singer Charice Pempengco once again proved her singing prowess as she performed for the centennial anniversary of the famous Feyenoord Football Club in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, last September 6.

Her rendition of the club's theme song "You'll Never Walk Alone" was witnessed by more that 50,000 people who were present at the De Kuip Stadium

While Charice was singing the inspirational hit, her audience mostly supporters and members of Feynoord couldn't help but to sing with her, too.

In the video, posted by "FalseVoice," Charice wears a sporty shirt and pants while belting high notes of the song. Aside from the song "You'll Never Walk Alone" the young diva also performed the song "And I'm Telling You" that she dedicated to all the football club's loyal fans and supporters.

"I had been asked to sing this songs and I want to dedicate this song to all the Feynoord supporters who over the years stayed with and stood by their team through thick and thin they did not go away and I'm here tonight to celebrate the 100 years," she said. In her interview prior to her performance at the De Kuip Stadium Charice said that she's really excited to perform in front of thousands of people and to sing on the stage of a very huge venue.

“Okay naman po siya… noong una hindi ko alam iyon pero ganoon pala ka special iyong event. Kaya ngayon po nagpa-practice ako... Kinakabahan ako pero masya kasi sa akin nila binigay iyong song,” Charice told abs-cbnNEWS.com before she went to The Netherlands.

She said she was handpicked by the organization to sing for them after they watched her video posted on Youtube.

“Nakita po nila kasi iyon na kinanta ko sa Wowowee, iyon kinuha po nila ako,” the young singer said.

GMA-7 has finally revealed the identities of the 18 castaways (originally 16) that will compete for the three million pesos cash prize—tax free—in the first-ever Survivor Philippines, hosted by Paolo Bediones.

The 18 castaways, nine males and nine females, were chosen out of more than 43,000 Survivor fans and aspiring castaways who auditioned nationwide.

These people from diverse backgrounds—including a lingerie model, a labandera, a yaya, a waiter, a call center agent, a driver, a basketball player—were flown to Koh Tarutao island, also known as the Devil's Island, in Thailand to embark on their biggest challenge yet.

The 18 castaways stayed in the Devil's Island for more than 39 days.

The 18 castways were initially divided into two groups: Naak and Jarakay, which means snake and crocodile, respectively, in Thai language. Every three days, they will battle for reward and immunity. From them the Jury, composed of voted-out castaways, will determine who will win the three million pesos cas prize and the title of the first Pinoy Sole Survivor.

Two of the the Top 6 scholars of Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2 have started to carry out their assignments for Dream BIGayan!

After the successful "Concert for A Cause" last Saturday, September 6, Liezel and Laarni went to their respective chosen charities to provide gifts and necessities to their beneficiaries.

Liezel visited the Emmaus House of the Apostolate Home for the Aged on Sunday to deliver wheelchairs, food, and other necessities to the elderly. The activity, which was launched with DZMM Aksyon Ngayon, went on smoothly and the help given was very much appreciated.

Laarni meanwhile visited the Ambassadors of Light Blind Chorale. She provided the group with musical instruments they could use for their rehearsals and performances.

The founder of the group, Mr. Anderson Go, thanked Laarni, who has been dubbed "Independent Woman", profusely and advised her to always put her feet on the ground.

Actress Angelica Panganiban said that she's now enjoying her character as Scarlet for ABS-CBN's hit series "Iisa Pa Lamang."

In an interview, Panganiban admitted that at first she felt edgy doing her role since she thought that people might hate her for being a contravida.

"Noong start nahirapan talaga ako. Mahirap sa akin na from palaging ako ang inaapi at umaiiyak tapos ngayon ako nang-aapi at ang nagpapaiyak sa isang chracter. (Pero ) ang swerte ko at ang ganda ng character na binigay sa akin. Ang sarap paglaruan, sa ngayon natutunan nilang mahalin yung mga taong lumalaban kapag nasasaktan," she said.

She explained that Scarlet is just being bad because she's hurting and just need to stand for herself and her love ones.

"Naiintindihan nila (ng tao) yung pinanggalingan ng character," she said.

The actress said she's also enjoying the role of being a mother since she learned a lot from it. In the series she's the wife of Miguel Castillejos (Diether Ocampo) and the mother of Maggie.

"Siguro mahirap pala kasi ang dami mong niisip kapag umaarte ka--na yung anak kailangan sinusubuan mo, inaalalayan mo. Naninibago ako pero kailangan kong panindigan 'yon, kasi pinasok ko yon," she said.

The glamorous actress said that she's now happily in love with her real-life sweetheart actor-model Derek Ramsay despite much publicized tiffs in the past.

After their controversial rumored breakup, Panganiban said that their relationship is now stronger than ever.

"Mabuti naman po... (going strong) okay, siyempre po mayroong mga problema pero normal naman po 'yon (sa isang relasyon), she said.

She said that they have now a smoother relationship because they really learned a lot from their problems and mistakes.

"Minsan may tampuhan na ganoon pero less ngayon. Mas matagal na yung pinagsamahan mas naiintindihan na namin yung isa't-isa. Mas smooth na," she said.

Panganiban added: "Ngayon ang lesson namin ay lahat dapat pinag-uusapan. Hindi yung kapag nagkaproblema ngayon ay mag-sorry lang, bati na. Dapat iniisa-isa niyo ang problema, kung paano nangyari ito. Kung paano mo aayusin ito para hindi na talaga maulit."

Amnesia?--Forget it

Panganiban was again in the limelight recently after reports came out tha she suffered from amnesia.

Panganiban vehemently denied the report saying the only condition she's "suffering" from is near-sightedness.

"Wala naman po. Hindi pa ako nauuntog nang very hard, pero may problema ako sa mata (malabo kaya) ngayon naka-contact lens ako," she said.The actress just signed a contract to endorse a brand of contact lenses.

MANILA, Philippines – Franz Pumaren just wanted to take it one game at a time when La Salle battles Far Eastern University in their own “best-of-three" series in the UAAP. He just wanted to focus first in their playoff match before thinking of the semifinals.

The defending champion Green Archers and the Tamaraws will clash in a first of a possible three games on Thursday in a playoff for the no.2 seeding and the twice-to-beat bonus in the final-four. They begin their semis match on Sunday and if necessary, the teams face-off once more on September 18 in a knock-out match.

Pumaren, however, remains optimistic that his Archers could pull it through against the Tamaraws. “I am looking forward for this “best-of-three" series. I am excited and the team is excited and we believe we can play better. The team is in high spirits."

La Salle and FEU split their elimination round match up with the Archers winning their first meeting, 73-62, and the Tamaraws returning the favor in the second round with an 83-75 decision.

JV Casio erupted for 29 points, eight rebounds and three steals in La Salle’s first round victory while Rico Maierhoffer added 11 points, grabbed 17 rebounds and had three block shots.

Marnel Baracael was the only FEU player that finished in double figures with 14 markers.

In the second round, where FEU missed the services of Baracael, Mark Barroca scored a season high 26 points in leading the Tamaraws to an 83-75 win. Barroca also had seven rebounds and two steals while Benedict Fernandez and Reil Cervantes added 14 and 13 each.

Guard Jens Knuttel scattered 11 points and issued seven assists also for FEU where its 83-75 win over La Salle was part of a five-game winning run in the second round.

Maierhoffer topped La Salle’s scoring in that loss with 18 points, 13 rebounds and three assists while Casio finished with 15 markers and four assists. James Mangahas came off the bench and scored 14 markers.

Both teams boast of a strong starting unit and a host of role players. “It’s hard to say of our outcome against FEU. We ended up 1-1 after the elimination round. We don’t know which team has the advantage."

While La Salle has the backcourt duo of Casio and LA Revilla, FEU has the explosive tandem of Knuttel and Barroca. The Archers have outside gunners Mangahas and Peejay Barua, the Tamaraws have Fernandez and the returning Baracael. Maierhoffer will man the paint for La Salle and FEU will counter with the bull-strong Cervantes.

Alvin Villanueva, Joshua Webb, Simon Atkins, Bader Malabes, Hyram Bagatsing and Ferdinand will offer quality minutes for the Archers while at the other side of the court the Tamaraws have Marlon Adolfo, Aldrech Ramos, JR Cawaling, Paul Sanga, Edgar Tanuan and John Alisbo.

Pumaren also remains positive with Casio, who had one of his worst games in La Salle’s 65-57 loss to rival Ateneo on September 6. “JV hopes to bounce back after that game against Ateneo. He sure will have his usual game next time and he will make up for that lousy game."

Pumaren said he’s not yet thinking of an Ateneo-La Salle finals series. “I don’t know what will happen with the Ateneo-UE series. I am just looking forward of facing FEU."

Sa ginanap na press conference para sa pelikulang Mag-ingat sa... Kulam ng Regal Entertainment sa Penthouse ng Imperial Palace Suites last September 6, naitanong ng entertainment press kay Mother Lily Monteverde ang isyu tungkol kay Katrina Halil. May lumabas kasing report na idedemanda raw ng Regal matriarch si Katrina dahil sa paglabag nito sa kontratang pinirmahan para sa Regal. May kaugnayan ito sa deal na isinara ng kampo ni Katrina sa OctoArts Films.

Nasabi nga ni Mother Lily na hinihintay pa rin niya ang lawyer ni Katrina na makipag-usap sa kanila para ayusin ang problemang ito. Agad namang kinuha ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) ang side ni Katrina, na mukhang pupungas-pungas pa sa kabilang linya ng telepono dahil nagbabawi ng tulog. Kagagaling lang kasi ng young sexy actress sa ilang linggo na paglalagi sa US para sa ilang personal appearances doon.

"Wala akong alam na idedemanda raw niya ako, kasi wala pa naman akong natatanggap na subpoena," tila clueless na nasabi ni Katrina sa PEP sa kabilang linya. "Ang nakipag-usap talaga kay Mother Lily ay ang father ko, at ang lawyer namin na si Atty. Palad. Sila ang mas nakakaalam ng detalye.

"Pasensiya na dahil hindi ko maintindihan ang puno't dulo ng istoryang 'yan dahil ang sabi ng lawyer namin, mukhang naayos na ang tungkol sa bagay na 'yan. Nakausap na ng lawyer namin si Mother Lily. Tungkol sa nature ng kontrata sa OctoArts, mas mabuting ipaharap ko na lang sa press ang lawyer ko sa takdang panahon, pero kailangang magkaliwanagan. Mukha kasing malabo rin ang mga lumalabas na isyu.

"Palagay ko, kailangan lang talagang magkaintindihan at magkausap-usap uli. Hindi ko rin alam ang sinabi ni Mother sa lawyer namin, pero si Atty. Palad ang nagsabi sa amin na okey naman daw," saad ni Katrina.

Confident si Katrina na maaayos ito at hindi na aabot pa sa puntong mati-TRO (Temporary Restraining Order) ang One Night Only, ang pelikulang gagawin ni Katrina sa bakuran ng kumpanya ni Mr. Orly Ilacad. Hindi pa man, mukhang nahaharap na sa maraming problema ang proyektong ito ng OctoArts, na ang pinag-uugatan ay ang presence dito ni Katrina.

"Palagay ko, naayos na ang problema, pero hindi ko pa rin alam ang kumpletong casting. Hindi pa talaga nagpu-full blast ang shooting namin dahil hinintay pa akong makabalik from the US," sabi niya.

Yung ibang mga artista raw sana sa proyekto na hina-handle ng Star Magic ay napabalitang nagsipag-atrasan na nang malamang si Katrina ang ibebentang pinakabida sa pelikula.

"Hindi naman totoo 'yan, isa lang ako sa mga bida," paglilinaw ni Katrina. "Nagkataon kasi na nasabay yung naunang presscon sa pagpirma ko ng contract sa Octo, kaya parang lumalabas tuloy na pelikula ko lang ang One Night Only.

"Para kasing dalawang projects ang pinag-uusapan that time. Marami tuloy ang nag-conclude na ako ang pinakabida sa pelikula. Pero kung totoong may mga nagsipag-backout, wala naman akong magagawa doon. Hindi naman sasama ang loob ko, kasi desisyon nila yun, and they have their reasons.

"Kung totoo man yun, it's all up to them. Hindi naman ako nagkukuwestiyon. Ang iniintindi ko lang, inilapit sa akin ang project, may kontrata ako sa Octo, yun ang hinaharap ko. The same way na naghihintay lang naman ako ng project sa Regal, at mayroon pa akong ginagawa para sa ibang kumpanya [GMA Films], ang Sundo. At saka hindi naman kami pumipirma ng kontrata na hindi maayos at hindi tinitiyak ang terms and conditions."

FOLLOW-UP PROJECT WITH DENNIS. Katatapos pa lang ng Magdusa Ka, heto at sila na naman ni Dennis Trillo ang magkasama sa Gagambino.

"Natutuwa ako dahil napatunayan namin ni Dennis na magki-click kami. Kasi noong una, nakaka-discourage ang comments ng iba na kesyo pang-kontrabida lang daw ako. Malaki ang pasasalamat ko sa GMA 7 dahil sa tiwala nila, at kahit paano, may napatunayan ako na kaya ko naman sigurong magbida, kaya nga may bago uli akong assignment. At sunud-sunod din ang ginagawa kong pelikula," pagwawakas ni Katrina. - Philippine Entertainment Portal

In the middle of his preparations for bigger projects on television and film, intrigues continue to hound comebacking actor Gabby Concepcion.

Concepcion's current stint in show business is now the target of much speculation.

According to the grapevine, he is not happy with his return to the Philippine showbiz scene, so he is now considering going back to the US. His manager said these rumors are simply not true.

"Walang katotohanan ‘yon. Sobra naman ang mga balita. Wala silang karapatan na pangunahan ang desisyon ni Gabby. Marunong pa sila kay Gabby," said the actor’s talent manager, producer Rose Flaminiano.

"Paano mangyayari na uuwi na si Gabby sa Amerika samantalang hanggang last quarter pa ng 2009 ang kanyang mga commitments. Nakakatawa naman ang balitang ‘yon. Walang basehan. Ni hindi man lang sila nag-inquire. That is irresponsible journalism," Flaminiano said.

She added that her ward is very busy endorsing a lot of products and preparing for a movie with Claudine Barretto.

"Wala na ba silang ibang makita kundi si Gabby? Sobra naman sila. Matagal na ako sa show biz pero nakakapikon din minsan," the manager said.

"Siguro, ang maikling bakasyon ay puwede na kay Gabby pero hindi ‘yong tuluyan niyang iiwan ang show biz," she clarified.

Meanwhile, Flaminiano also stressed that Concepcion is very supportive of his daughter KC Concepcion, and that he would do anything to make her happy.

"Kahit sa CR pa siya ilagay, okey lang kay Gabby basta't para sa kanyang anak," she chuckled.

Far Eastern University coach Glen Capacio believes consistency will be the key to his team’s title aspirations in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines.

But before Capacio and the Tamaraws think of claiming their league-high 20th UAAP crown, they must first hurdle the defending champion De La Salle Green Archers.

The Tams and Archers begin their “best-of-three" series on Thursday when the two teams collide in a playoff match for the precious twice-to-beat advantage in the semifinals. They officially begin their semifinal series on Saturday at the Araneta Coliseum.

“Best of three na ang mangyayari sa amin ng La Salle, so I believe 50-50 ang chance namin pareho," said Capacio, whose Tamaraws split their elimination-round games against La Salle.

The Archers won the first game, 73-62, while the Tams returned the favor in the second round, 83-75. Both schools also boast of an explosive starting unit and a deep bench waiting to contribute to further their respective team’s cause.

Capacio will be relying on starters Andy Barroca, Benedict Fernandez, Reil Cervantes, JR Cawaling and Marlon Adolfo to start things up for the Tamaraws.

The supporting cast of Jens Knuttel, Paul Sanga, Aldrech Ramos and the returning Marnel Baracael hopes to contribute quality minutes off the bench.

Capacio said he has no particular game plan against the Archers. “Defensively grabe ang pressure defense ng La Salle. Wala naman kaming game plan sa kanila, kailangan lang masagot namin ang press nila."

FEU’s backcourt combination of Knuttel and Barroca were ineffective in the Tamaraws’ 73-61 loss to the Red Warriors on September 4, FEU’s last elimination-round game. Barroca, who averaged 20 points in the three games prior to the loss to UE, was held to seven points while Knuttel went scoreless.

“[Barroca and Knuttel] need to put that [loss] behind them. Focus na namin ang La Salle," Capacio said.

Capacio said La Salle and University of the East have similar styles since both schools are handled by brothers Franz and Dindo Pumaren. “Kailangang mag-improve at mag-step-up ang backcourt namin. Kung sinong team ang maglalaro consistently ’yun ang mananalo."

He added that experience will be La Salle’s no.1 advantage. “La Salle has the championship experience. Tested na ang mga players nila so alam nila i-handle ang pressure ng laro. But we will be ready for them."

Asked whether an Ateneo-FEU final match-up is possible, Capacio said: “Sana nga. We are hoping for another finals appearance. Pero kailangan malampasan muna ang La Salle."

FEU last won the UAAP title in 2005 scoring a 2-0 sweep of La Salle, 75-73 and 73-71, in the finals. It was their third straight crown (2003 to 2005) after La Salle forfeited its 2004 championship. – GMANews.TV

Nagkaroon ng special feature ang Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho ng GMA-7 kagabi, September 6, on Jose Sixto Dantes III—better known as Dingdong Dantes—tungkol sa pagkakapili sa kanya ng E! Television as one of the 25 Sexiest Men of the World hanggang sa pagiging isa sa most sought-after endorser, hottest young actor, at leading man ng Pilipinas.


Intensive ang ginawang pagtalakay ng Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho, kung saan may one-on-one interview si Jessica kay Dingdong. Ipinakita rin dito ang ipinadalang VTR ni Mr. Dan Railey, ang executive producer ng E!, na nagpapahayag ng pagkakapili nila kay Dingdong sa hanay ng 25 Sexiest Men of the World.



Ang unang tanong ni Jessica kay Dingdong ay kung ano ang pakiramdam niya when people say his sexy, hindi ba siya nase-self conscious?



"Actually yes, yes... Hindi kasi ako sanay, e. I mean, hindi ako sanay na matawag na ganoon," nakangiting sabi ni Dingdong.



Tanong ni Jessica, "What is it like for a non-showbiz person like me to be up there na tinitingala at tinitingnan na halos hubad na [gaya sa Bench pictorial]?"



"I would say na comfortable ako dahil kung hindi, hindi siya lalabas na ganoon," sagot ni Dingdong. "Pero siyempre, pinaghahandaan yun. Kumbaga, pinaghandaan ko ‘yan ng tatlong buwan, just for that one photo shoot. And after that, balik na ko sa normal. And if you will ask me now kung magagawa ko ulit na mag-pose na ganoon, e, teka lang, maghahanda akong muli."



Bagamat natutuwa raw si Dingdong na siya lang ang bukod-tanging Pinoy na nakasama sa listahan, along with other male celebrities mula sa iba't ibang bahagi ng mundo gaya ng soccer superstar na si David Beckham ng Great Britain, mas mahalaga pa rin daw na may maipakita siyang kahusayan sa napili niyang propesyon kesa sa mapag-usapan lang dahil sa kanyang magandang pangangatawan.



LOOKS IS NOT ENOUGH. Tinanong ni Jessica si Dingdong kung hindi ba sapat ang pagiging guwapo lang para sumikat sa showbiz.



"Oo, kailangan talaga may puso," sagot ni Dingdong. "Kasi, yun ang nakikita ng tao. Kaya ka nila nagugustuhan dahil nararamdaman ka nila. Ngayon, kung nakikita ka lang nila, naayusan lang sila sa hitsura mo, ang daling palitan ‘yan, e. Bukas may darating na mas good-looking sa ‘yo, mas appealing sa kamera. You can be forgotten in an instant."



Ipinakita rin sa Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho ang ilang videos ni Dingdong noong bata pa siya at ilan sa mga TV commercials niya na makikitang chubby pa siya. Sinabi ni Jessica na hindi plinano ni Dingdong ang pagpasok sa pag-aartista, lalo pa't maayos naman ang lagay ng pamilya niya.



Nag-elementary at high school sa Ateneo de Manila. Napabilang sa Abztract Dancers. Nakatungtong din ng kolehiyo sa Ateneo pa rin, pero muling na-discover ng isang taga-Viva Films at isinali siya sa sikat na youth-oriented show noon na T.G.I.S. bilang si Iñaki. Since then, hindi na nakawala si Dingdong sa showbiz.



Sinabi ni Jessica kay Dingdong na he's not the typical na naging artista because he actually came from school, kumpara sa iba na dala ng kahirapan kaya naisipang pasukin ang pag-aartista.



Sabi naman ni Dingdong, "Pero nalaman ko rin noong bata pa lang ako na nasa akin na yung kahit paano, passion ko. Being creative in some aspects. Mahilig na akong mag-collect ng mga laruan, action figures...mga costumes, kung ano-ano ang sinusuot ko. So, alam ko na kahit na noong bata pa lang ako, nabubuhay na that side of me."



Hindi raw naging madali para kay Dingdong ang lahat kahit sabihin pang biniyayaan siya ng good looks. Pero si Dingdong din mismo ang nagsabi na, "Proud ako dahil wala akong nilampasan na step. Kumbaga, yung introductory level at pagpasok ng tao sa industriyang ito [showbiz], masasabi kong napasok ko siya."



PERFECT COMBINATION. Ayon kay Jessica, bagamat marami na rin naging proyekto si Dingdong, masasabi na napansin ng publiko nang husto ang young actor nang gumanap siya bilang Sergio sa Pinoy version ng Marimar.



Mula noon, pumailanlang ang kanyang career, tinilian, at sinubaybayan lalo pa nga't naging mainit din ang pagtanggap sa kanyang kapareha na si Marian Rivera. Tinanong ni Jessica si Dingdong kung sa palagay niya ay kung walang Marian Rivera at walang Marimar, hindi siya makakarating sa kinalalagyan niya ngayon.



"It's a combination of everything, e. Mawala man siguro yung isa ro'n, hindi siguro magiging ganoon kalakas ang impact," sagot ni Dingdong.



Dugtong ni Jessica, masyado raw popular ang mga character na pinu-portray niya gaya ni Sergio sa Marimar at si Fredo sa Dyesebel na baka ang Dingdong Dantes the actor or the person ay hindi lumutang.



"Ang pagsasabuhay ko sa kanila ay hinahaluan ko ng konting reyalidad ng pagiging ako," saad ni Dingdong.



Si Jessica rin mismo ang nagsabi na kung akala raw ng iba ay madali ang maging artista at madaling sumikat, malayo raw ito sa totoong buhay. So, the award-winning host of GMA-7 asked Dingdong kung ano ba ang mga pinagdadaanan niya kapalit ng mga tagumpay na tinatamasa niya ngayon.



"Yung oras ng trabaho sa amin ay hindi pareho ng normal na trabaho sa nasa opisina. Yun ang mga mawawala sa ‘yo, oras for yourself, for your family, at sa mga bagay na gusto mong gawin."



Apat na beses raw sa isang linggo kung mag-taping si Dingdong ng Dyesebel. The show's director Joyce Bernal was also asked about Dingdong. She said, "Hindi puwedeng mawala ang interpretasyon niya sa character niya. Even sa scene, palaging nagtatanong. ‘Tapos, kailangang malaman niya kung ano ang intensiyon niya doon sa eksena. So, he's a thinking actor. "



SOMETHING YOU DON'T KNOW ABOUT DINGDONG. Nalaman din na si Dingdong pala ay hindi masyadong maselan sa kanyang pananamit, pero ibang usapan na raw pagdating sa kanyang buhok. Tinanong ni Jessica ang young actor kung ayaw ba niyang pinapakialaman o inaayos ng iba ang buhok niya.



Natatawang inamin ni Dingdong na, "Inaayos ko pa rin siya. Kahit sabihin na nating inayos na nila in a certain way, unconsciously, yung kamay ko, inilalagay ko na sa buhok ko at inaayos ko na. ‘Tapos sila yung, ‘Huwag mo nang galawin.' Nakakalimutan ko kaya ako, ‘Ay, sorry, sorry!'"



Nadiskubre rin ng Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho na si Dingdong ay isang reserve para sa Philippine Army. Ipinakita rin ang ilang videos ni Dingdong na naka-army uniform at kasama sa medical missions ng mga sundalo sa bansa.



"Isa sa mga childhood frustration ko ay ang maging sundalo. In a way, naisasabuhay ko siya at the same time, nakakatulong ako because kasama ako sa grupo ng mga doctors, abogado na nagbibigay ng medical mission," kuwento ni Dingdong.



NOT SO NICE. Sa edad na 28 years old, marami nang naabot si Dingdong, pero siya raw mismo ang nagsasabing hindi siya perpekto. Tinanong ni Jessica si Dingdong kung ano ang ginagawa ng isang nice boy na tulad niya sa showbiz.



"Nice boy? I don't believe I'm nice," nakangiting sabi ni Dingdong.



Ano ba ang masasabing mga kalokohan ni isang Dingdong? Umiinom ba siya?



"Yes, yes!" pag-amin ni Dingdong. "That's one of the things that I look forward at the end of the week. Social drinking na, at least, yung tipong pag-uwi mo naman ay sulit naman ang naging pag-inom mo."
