Juday happy to be Cuyo Island's adopted daughter

Despite the ruling of the Supreme Court that upheld the multi-million tax evasion case against her, actress Judy Ann Santos has something to celebrate - the Municipality of Cuyo Island in Palawan has adopted her as its daughter.
In a report on GMA Network’s Showbiz Central, Santos said she was touched by the decision of Cuyo local officials because she has no hometown.
Santos’ best friend actress Beth Tamayo is also an adopted daughter of Cuyo.
Like Santos, Tamayo was overwhelmed by such honor.
Tamayo said that she was not expecting Cuyo officials to give her the same honor that they bestowed on Santos.
The adoption rites took place during the screening of Santos’ movie “Ploning" in Cuyo.
"Nagpunta din kami doon not only for the fiesta itself and for the screening of Ploning but also for the medical mission na gagawin namin for the hospital.
On SC’s ruling
Meanwhile, Santos said she was not bothered by the decision of the Supreme Court on Tuesday that junked her plea against the Court of Tax Appeals (CTA), which had ordered her arraignment for tax evasion.
“Basta, nagdadasal ako na sana matapos na. Kung ano man ang magiging hatol ng Korte haharapin ko naman be it guilty or not," Santos said. - GMANews.TV
