‘Cristy Fermin knew about Nadia Montenegro’s guesting’

Labels: , , ,

Showbiz-oriented talk show "The Buzz" presented on Sunday the chronology of events that led to the suspension of columnist and television and radio host Cristy Fermin after she wrote that the program had slighted her twice.

In her column, Fermin, one of the hosts of "The Buzz", said she respected the decision of ABS-CBN management to suspend her until Dec. 31, 2008 due to her violations of the provisions of her contract.

Fermin said although she respected ABS-CBN’s decision, she felt that "The Buzz" had allegedly “disrespected” her for the second time when former actress Nadia Montenegro came out live on air and threw accusations at her while she was in Canada.

Montenegro’s exclusive interview on "The Buzz" was aired on September 28. Fermin gave her side of the story on October 5.

The first instance was when the show guested Annabelle Rama, mother of actress and "The Buzz" host Ruffa Gutierrez, Fermin wrote.

"The Buzz", however, said that a day before Montenegro’s appearance the producers texted Fermin to inform her about the exclusive interview. The show said the producers had informed Fermin that if she was not fine with it, "The Buzz" would not push through with the interview.

"The Buzz" said Fermin texted four hours later to give her consent.

As for Rama's interview, the show said Fermin was also informed “out of respect” and that she also consented to it.

"The Buzz" said its producers had warned her against saying malicious statements against Montenegro. "The Buzz" said Fermin had assured the producers and replied that she knew her limitations.

Fermin’s suspension came after her explosive revelations against Montenegro wherein which she claimed that her arch-enemy had sired a child by another man.

Fermin received a memo three days after the October 5 episode of "The Buzz" and was ordered to explain why she should not be suspended.

The television host submitted her reply on October 9. On October 15, ABS-CBN Head for TV Production Cory Vidanes and ABS-CBN business unit head Louie Andrada personally told her about management’s final decision to suspend her from her television and radio programs until the end of this year.
